TATW's Solution to Custom Battle Menu CTD?

Hey there, I'm hoping 1) that this isn't considered off-topic and 2) that someone from TATW, or a diligent fan, can help with an issue as my Google searches keep pointing me here. I think that TATW at one point might have had (and fixed via a patch) the same error that I'm now experiencing in working on a submod for TESTW.

I've run into a CTD that occurs every time I click "Custom Battle" on the main menu screen. Everything else about the menu and the game works fine including starting a campaign and fighting on the battle map (through the campaign or Quick Battle). I'm 99% certain that this isn't a UAC/VirtualStore problem. If I'm not mistaken and TATW did have this problem at one point, what exactly was fixed in a patch to resolve it?
