Default Units can attack units ascending siege equipment?

Just played a massive siege - during which the game slowed to a SLIDE SHOW - and the siege took about an hour. Only returned to normal speed when about 83% of the AI was dead. Must be an issue with CPUs as when I paused, camera movement returned to normal speed.

Anyway, I sallied my knights out the castle to attack the AI units climbing the ladders/siege towers. I noticed the knights would not attack them when ordered to do so directly, but I could get them to attack in passing by ordering them to walk past the units ascending the siege equipment. Obviously this only worked/was possible to some extent as the city walls blocked their path.

Is this a bug due to be fixed?

A further major issue I've seen is units getting stuck on boulders and perimeter fences of farms etc., meaning your units also cannot attack them except without great difficulty. Hope they can fix this.

I've been in the exact same situation, and was trying to attack the mass of bodies queuing up for ladders in order to hasten the end of the siege while things ground along at a snail's pace. I know it's not my system which is brand new and top of the line - and this bug which seems to slow me down to about 5 frames per minute only happens in sieges (and then not in all of them). Has anyone worked out what the trigger is?

Hi, describes my situation to a tee (also on a top of the line rig). Must be a bug somewhere...
