Default HELP "Medieval II has suffered a fatal error"

Have Medieval 2 total war on steam, w/ kingdoms expansion. GC runs fine, Kingdoms expansions do not. Instead this error message appears. "medieval 2 has suffered a fatal error." I have cleared program files and the pc of all traces of this game and any mod and redownloaded medieval 2 from steam and fresh installed. Then i try to run it, grand campaign runs, kingdoms still do not, the message keeps appearing. Please help me out here guys. Thanks.

The kingdoms expansions are a DLC available from steam as well. Or have you installed that from disk? If so, make a copy of your medieval2.exe file (root folder of game) and rename the copy to kingdoms.exe
