ambushes still suck

With princesses, merchants, spys, assassins, priests, and not forget about soldiers...it is hard to get an ambush setup. I wish they wouldnt allow all the special characters see my ambushing units, to make them happen more often.

I love ambushes. It might be one of my favorite parts of the game series. I was hoping for more friendlier ambushes in M2. I see troops walk right by my ambush units to to the side of the road a few times already. Merchant walks up and discovers me, than i get attacked by a army. The trees along side of roads are hit or miss.....

So if you love ambushes so much, why aren't your assassins hard at work cleaning up the landscape around your hidden army to keep it out of sight of prying eyes? I'd use lots of spies too...
