Due to the lack of Ted tutorials I thought I would start one. There hasnt been much interest in Ted. One of the main reasons for that may have to do with the buggy and complicated program. Crashes are hard to predict to newcomers.
Making the walls garrisonable was not too difficult but it took me a while to figure out how.
Start by placing the walls. For this experiment it doesnt matter what culture as long was the wall is the ..._fort_straight.
Next I raised the ground with an absolute brush by around 10. Paint under the hill or the inner side of the wall. Try to keep the raised ground at the same point as in the picture.
The next step is to smooth the ramp under the wall. The ground will go under the wall. It has to be smooth so units can go onto the wall.
The final step is to go into the "create tab" and scroll down to battlefield zone.
There are two ways to do this. I find this method the easiest:
When you paint the zone just click and drag. Clicking left once will place the zone. Move the mouse to the ideal location and click left again to end the zone at that point if you would like to turn at a corner or less than 90 degree angle. Once you have come to the end of the wall where the zone should end right click to end the zone placement. Your zone should resemble roughly the one in the picture.
The final step is to edit the zone. Go into the menu on the right side and under "rank count" change the value to "0". This will remove the yellow line in the middle of the zone. As shown in the picture. One zone has a yellow line and the other does not. This is to show the before and after. The red circle to the right of the picture shows where "rank count is".
The other method is to change rank count before drawing the zone but this will change the brush to a polygon brush and it takes a tad longer to draw the zone lines.
I also changed the view to "Ortho Top" to make drawing the zones easier.
Smoothing of the walls is the most difficult because if it is not smoothed right the units cant go onto the wall. So if it doesnt work at first go back and re-smooth the wall.
