Default Is it possible to code in numbered legions?

I don't know if any of you remember Barbarian Invasion (vanilla).

Once you had access to first cohorts, every first cohort you recruited had its own number - e.g Claudia Pia Fidelis (I). After having recruited one first cohort named Claudia Pia Fidelis, the next first cohort recruited from the same place would be Claudia Pia Fidelis (II) and so on and so forth.

Would there be a simple way to code the numbering in to my Roma Surrectum?

    Thanks

It's already there - I asked for that during testing nearly 3 years ago and the lovely dvk' managed to do it.

It's exactly what happens during the Middle Republic/Generic Cohorts part following Marian Reforms provided: a) you're playing v2.6; & b) have been activating the script.

The First Cohorts are then raised and numbered on a scheme dependent on where they are raised.

I've done this carefully over my Middle Republic phase in the past in such a way that Legion numbers remain as I transition to Early Imperial and the first of the N&N.

So....... Are you not seeing this? If so, there may be a problem.

You might not be seeing it right or your install is corrupt.

After the Marian Reforms I built the Roman Fortress in all settlements where I have planned to recruit legions. The legion ancillaries are given in Rome and in a specific order (Germanica I, Augusta II, Augusta III and so on). Move your generals to rome for one turn, depending on the number of legions you want to recruit. I recruited the first 5 legions for now, so I moved 5 generals to rome and after receiving the ancillaries I sent them to the settlements where the legions are recruited.

Maybe I didnt understand OPs question. He wants to have every cohort numbered? My cohorts arent numbered either, only the first.

Yes & No - the 'other cohorts' have never been numbered (for there aren't sufficient units in total available) - but I am fairly sure the ones, given the BI reference, that he's referring to are the 'Generic First Cohorts' that are recruit-able immediately following the Marian Reforms from the 'Campus Martius'.

    In which case - done.
