Cannot start a new grand campaign?

Hi I just today modified my game to unlock all the factions and also to set the timeframe to 0.50. When I go to the new grand campaign screen I see all the factions there, I pick one and start and instead of showing the campaign intro movie it just puts me back to the Singleplayer menu (the one where you can pick tutorial/grand campaign/custom battle/historic battle etc.) What's the problem, I bought the game through steam, can steam users not modify this?

I am not a modder by any means but I would just say that I hoped that you backed-up the file because maybe you messed up somewhere. I would just replace the file with the old one and redo it while making sure it is definitely correct. I don't know of any other reason this would happen. Also, I am not sure about this and was trying to help with my veeery limited modding knowledge.

As the others said, you messed up somewhere in the descr_strat.txt file.
