'Passive ruler' trait
Hello, in my recent game my King has trait Passive Ruler. I saw it many times, but what is strange is, that this King is the most active I've ever had, I have conquered half of HRE with him, he also hac trait Conqueror. On what depends this trait, is it random? It has no effect, I only really want to know

Re: 'Passive ruler' trait
Go to SS6.3/data and open export_descr_character_traits.txt. There you have a list of all the traits, it's effects and triggers. Search for Trigger PassiveRuler, should be in the lower half somewhere. My file says that if a faction leader has Slothful trait, he has a 5% chance of becoming passive ruler and the same odds for BoringSpeaker, then a 3% chance if he remains idle for more than 4 turns. Though I suggest you check the file yourself, I don't have regular SS, I'm playing Stainless Steel Historical Improvements Project and the triggers might be different here. My guess is your leader got the trait when he was younger or it's a bug, traits are sometimes broken. Most likely a bug, otherwise he would have lost the trait after a few battles.

Re: 'Passive ruler' trait
In vanilla SS there are two triggers for the passive ruler trait:
1. There is a 9% chance if your faction leader does not have one level of "StrategyChivlary" (that means the chiv. you receive when setting low taxes or if you don't sack/exterminate captured settlements)
2. A general chance of 2% every turn
So, even if your faction leader is sailing around the whole world or fighting hundreds of battles every turn you always have a chance to receive this trait. Same for Absent Minded, the chance to receive this trait is even higher and you can be happy when you got PassvieRuler instead.
