    Default MSN Virus

Those of you online and on my adress list about half an hour ago will have noticed a strange link pop up, snet from me, followed closely by me signing out.

The same had happened to me two minutes earlier...
I clicked on the link, saying, "Is this you :o" and it immediatly got sent to everyone on my contact list, then within a few minutes closed MSN, internet explorer, and any other programs, before closing down my computer.

    It was a bad move

I logged on to find several new icons on my desktop, i deleted all but the application: winstall, which is undeletable

I then found myself unable to open MSN
I tracked down the MSN programs and deleted the extra applications

However, even with MSN up, I still have a trojan beseiging me with pop ups

Yes, this happened with a couple of people I know. It says the same thing, I click on the link, and it offers me to download an MS-DOS program. Of course, I'm not stupid. See, this is why you should get Firefox. It doesn't automatically download the virus...

run full virus/spyware scans - possibly try a system restore if you have it enabled. There's a free program called Trojan Hunter also which seems to be quite reliable to me.

I currently have a very similar Virus.

Look at those links SG, if you havent already got rid of it, and if anyone else currently has it.

Also, would it be possible if this and the thread I created (Argh, a Virus) be merged, since they both are about the same thing?
