Rebels!!
Hi,
A Couple of quick questions regarding Rebels,
1) Why do Rebels just suddenly appear in your area, is it because they are unhappy with their nearby settlement and are therefore revolting??
2) How come sometimes, Rebels appear to have more advanced units then your own, (ones that haven't been developed in your own settlements yet) ie Armoured Swordsman.

Re: Rebels!!
Im not 100% sure on this but, here are a few reasons why.
-Unhappy population slightly increases Rebels in the area
-Long roads that are not often traveled dont spawn more rebels then other places, they just gather on roads to suck up possible trade income on roads. Notoriously popular in russia and the steppes.
-Rebels can be randomly produced by the game, sometimes they spawn more advanced units for no apparent reason.
If you wish to lower the amount of rebels spawns go to
C:/.../Sega/Medieval II Total War/Data/World/Maps/Campaign/Imperial_Campaign.
Then go to Descr_strat and nearing the very top you should see
brigand_spawn_value ##
pirate_spawn_value ##
The higher the number, the less rebels generally spawn. Always make a back up if you are to change that
