Icon4 Mini Mods Subforum rules and infos

    Hello Folks,

As some people start to make submods based on SSHIP, we have decided to make this subforum purely dedicated to that purpose. You can open a dedicated thread in the Mini Mods subforum but, please, don't open a thread for each version of your submod. You'll be in charge and responsible of your submod and so, to support it.

Remember that if you use some stuff from other modders, you must get their permission before to release a public version.

This board is moderated in large part by local moderators who have been given their positions by reason of their involvement with this project rather than their contributions to TWC. Local moderators are given considerable leeway in moderating their boards, but there are limits to what they're permitted to do—they are not permitted to suppress dissent, for instance, if it does not violate forum rules. If you believe you've been wronged by a local moderator, feel free to contact a TWC moderator and ask him to review the local moderator's decision. Be aware, however, that the TWC moderators will usually not interfere with local moderators' decisions.

TWC moderators can be identified by their user rank images, which include the name of their rank and a shield design.

    Dear SSHIP staff,
as an assistance for minimoders, would it be possible for you (if you have them), to put here some resources to make our lives easier?
For instance, it would be useful to have a list which new factions replace which old factions, which buildings are new to SSHIP, which buildings (maybe with level included) are available for which factions, and which are not available for the castles.
It's possible to find the information by ourselves, of course, but it would save our time, avoid making mistakes, and maybe it's just cut-and-paste for you
From my side, I try to document my minimods to the maximum extent, describing every change I made and writing rationale for having these changes.
    Regards,
    JoC

If you want to play a historical mod in the medieval setting the best are:
Stainless Steel Historical Improvement Project and Broken Crescent.
Recently, Tsardoms and TGC look also very good. Read my opinions on the other mods here.

Hints for Medieval 2 moders: forts, merchants, AT-NGB bug, trade fleets.
Thrones of Britannia: review, opinion on the battles, ideas for modding. Shieldwall is promising!

Most of these informations are already in the description of each version in the Download thread.
    Regarding factions:
    Pisa - added from nothing
    Rûm - added from nothing
    Serbia - replaces Teutonic Order
    Zengids - replace Kwarezmians
    Abbasids - replace Milan/Genoa
    Georgia - replaces Timurids

Regarding buildings, I'll let MWY to answer as this is basically his stuff

PM me with the details you need to know and I'll update this post accordingly (well, at least, I'll do my best )

Is it possible to get a formatted Modeldb file ? I was supersized to see the format of it compared to other mods when I was working with unit models.

Not sure to get it right. Our modelDB file isn't the longest of all mods. However, it is true that it still contains some model entries which aren't used anymore.
Anyway, can you explain what you want exactly?

Thanks a million for this JoC! For the most part, these are all straightforward, but I have been banging my head against the wall for a couple (I know Timurids aren't in this, and I couldn't figure out what faction had taken their tag). I know I can figure it out by seeing who has what territories in the descr_strat file, but this is just way easier!

Default Is there a standalone page for the supply submod? The current one crashes the game :(

There is a supply submod with in the TWEAK compilation. It has part of the supply features of BGR that seems like a wonderful boost to the game's realism. Unfortunately the current Supply submod is broken - it crashes the game in the mid of the first three turns (I tested it many time - no way could the game pass the first three turns). Does anyone have any idea where to find this submod? since it's within TWEAK's complied list of optional submods, I assume it's developed by someone else and is likely to have an independent page where there may be an update. (Or at least I could report the problem to the developer). Do anyone know where it is or have any information in this regard?
