Mazovia wasn't the dominant duchy in fractured Poland and over time it moved away from mainstream Polish politics. Geographically speaking, there is no suitable region for the Duchy of Mazovia to be placed on the map, as opposed to Lesser Poland. The vanilla placement of the settlement of Belz is somewhere between modern day Kraków and Sandomierz - both were seats of smaller duchies that had close ties to each other (Sandomierz was generally a fief of Kraków, and Kraków was a senior duchy in Poland that was set as an overseer to other duchies until their power faded in the 1230's). They both are merged into a single duchy of Lesser Poland and it will be the "main" Polish faction at the start of the mod.

The region that should have Mazovia in it is so big that it stretches from Polesia through Mazovia up to Prussia. Mazovia can emerge in that region.

On this map, Lesser Poland is shown in orange - it corresponds much better to how regions in Attila are placed than Mazovia.

Why is there no Republic of Novgorod? It really played a huge role in the life of the northeastern part of Europe. Is it because you can't edit and add new regions to map? And good luck to you guys, really looking forward to playing this!

I see. That's a shame CA is too greedy to let modders do something to improve or change their games. Will miss wrecking Teutons and Lithuania as Novgorod

There is some scale problems on the map.
Examples (Only for France, but if wanted... I've got free time !):
-Brest (Brittany) and Strasbourg are on the same latitude, distant from 900 km. Paris is north of this latitude. On your map, Brest and Strasbourg are not on the same latitude, and Paris is strangely somewhere at the place of Angers.
-Orléans is south of the latitude Brest/Strasbourg, south of Paris, and you placed it somewhere at the place of Limoges (between Bordeaux and Lyon).
-Relatively where you placed Leman Lake, Dijon is not at the right location (it's north of where you put it).
-La Rochelle (Atlantic coast, west of Limoges) and Genève (Leman Lake west extremity) are on the same latitude, which is good on your map, but Lyon is just south of this line, almost on this line. You put is so far on the south! And Dijon then must be more north.
-Nancy is west of Strasbourg, not south west.
-Toulouse is not there, it's more on the mediterranean side
    etc.

    Look :

Please excuse me if your scale is intended in an attempt of recreating the imprecision of the medieval cartography, or if that has already been signaled

We cannot move the settlements as we would like to, since the campaign map cannot be edited, at least not in terms of moving cities to their correct location. We made the map as accurate as possible within the limitations of the game

I didn't know, I understood you've done another map for the mod. So bad it can't be modfied, even the cities can't be moved at their correct locations. What is missing in order to? CA did not provide its map tool?

I even wrote two posts above his post that you can't edit map ;P Actually almost every third or fourth post here is about lack of map edditing tools, but people just post before they read the thread.

At this point I don't want to have campaign map tools... The amount of complaints and nationalism would increase exponentially when I would start to redesign the map with better provinces. Saying "you can't edit the map" is so much easier and less stressful.

Jan, we're flying you to the East of Europe to retrace and pinpoint the borders of Volga Bulgaria during 1212. Gl HF

Just follow your vision guys, people can't seem to realise that you can't add in every little thing and fulfil everybodys wishes.

Is it not the point of the game to create your own alternate history?

Blame it on the CA scheme to do more $ not delivering usefull tools like a map editor. That said, they now HAVE TO make DLCs, or this refusal could be ridiculous

Can't you guys be able to replace the settlements though making custom settlements through TED? You can edit the campaign map asthetically once CA have provided their fixes for terry. What about the UI, events, scripting etc? Granted though, the mod tools are not the greatest in this hindsight. They're too limited.

Banu Ghanyia where no more the start of the mod. Hafsids had Tunis regions that u have for Bnu Ghaniya. Ziyyanids had Algeria region now but both Hafssids and Ziyyanids were part of Almohad in the start of the mod and both became independent later around 1235.

Doesn't matter. It's more interesting to have a lesser-known political entity on the map, especially in a place as bland (faction-wise) as North Africa. Banu Ghaniya are there to throw a wrench into Almohad+Hafsid machinery.

I don't think Pisa should be a faction and should be replaced by Florence for a few reasons. The first is that the city in game is Florence and not the port city of Pisa. Florence would play a role in both the Guelph-Ghibelline Wars and Latin ruled Greece. The other faction could be the Republic of Siena, who also played a role in the Guelph-Ghibelline Wars and defeated Florence at the battle of Montaperti. It would be interesting to see a faction in Tuscany other than Florence. The other reason is that Cagliari(city on Sardinia) was independent and ruled by the Giudicato of Cagliari(which would be represented by Sardinia) and they would remain independent from Pisa until 1258. In 1214 Benedetta of Cagliari married the ruler of the Giudicato of Arborea and essential unite half of Sardinia for a few years.
