Ok, I was wondering what music and each faction voice are you guys going to include in Tsardoms. I haven't seen any thread about this topic and I thought to make one. I do have some recommandations. This mod will take place in the Balkans and can tell you, if you didn't actually know already that there is nothing more representative for the Balkans (eastern Europe in general) tahn the Orthodox faith. Because of this, some Orthodox religious songs are a must have. An song that it is imperative to be included is this one dedicated to the Virgin Marry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCkWM9sv1_8 (I don't really know how to translate the title in English), it is the most beautiful song of Orthodoxy. This song you can find in YouTube in different langauges so it would be cool if I will hear this song in Greek if I play as the Byzantines, in Bulgarian if I play as Bulgaria, Serbian if play as Serbia, Romanian if play as Wallachia or Moldova.
Moreover, you can add folklore music specific to each nation. I must ask people of Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia, Croatia, Italy(?) and Turkey to provide some cool songs. For all the Slavic and Romanian factions you can also add the music from the Teutonic campaing , it fits preaty good. Also, for Slavic factions, I guess you could add some Russian music if it fits and doesn't offend anybody? For Catholic factions like Croatia, Bosnia and Venice, you can include the vanilla + kingdoms music alongside some beatutiful Catholic Gregorian Chants. I guess you can also add some Renessaince songs for Venice (look to Assasin's Creed maybe)?
For the Turks you can add ofcourse the vanilla songs specific to Oriental factions plus the Crusades campaingn ones. I must also BEG to add ALL of the Arab songs from Medieval 1. Don't limit the Medieval 1 music only to the Ottomans, you can also give all European factions the European style music from that game (ALL of it).
For the Byzantines, make it a combination between Medieval 1 and 2 + some Rome 1 music (ESPECIALLY the song Divinitius because it has a melancholic theme it and it really fits the dying civilisation of the Eastern Romans, not to mention that it is also a ROman style music). I think that Venice can also get Rome 1 music?
If you think that any music from other mods like Broken Crescent or Stainless Steel would fit here please do include them. Lastly, don't forget to serch for national folklore songs specific to each nation

Although I doubt Tzardoms needs any more music recommendations (I remember discussing this many years ago), especially in its current condition, I guess I'll pitch in with a few things. Of course, in regards to the Orthodox chants, both for Bulgaria and Byzantium, anything by Yoan Kukuzel (Anglicized as John Koukouzelis) is a must-have. For Serbia "Rasti, rasti" is a good option, especially if you can find a more traditional version. Likewise, for Bulgaria, the "Otkoga se e zora zazorila" is thematically quite fitting as well, though I don't know of any useful version of it (Isihia's version is probably the closest, but still too experimental, IMO). Again, in regards both to Bulgaria and the South Slavs as a whole, and their century-and-a-half-old cultural exchange with the Latin kingdoms by the mod's starting date, the album "Labyrinth - medieval and Bulgarian music" offers an interesting mix between Western and Balkan traditions, like this (I have the whole album, if anyone's interested), though it's obviously not exactly accurate.

For the rebirth of the Empire that's Christos Anesti. For the coronation that's "doxa si to dixanti to fos" the doxology. I have a huge collection of Orthodox music. Medieval Bulgarian, Medieval serbian stuff from Visoke Decani, and a ton of medieval Byzantine stuff. Romeiko ensemble is the best for authentic medieval Byzantine chanting, all they do is recreate the 11-13th century medieval chant... so Romeiko is a must have. I have alot of their music in mp3. And Nichita, the Orthodox songs you are recommending, that's the Byzantine hymn "Agni Parthene" or "O Virgin Pure" composed by St. Nektarios of Aegina. Very good choice. There are Slavonic, Greek, and Romanian versions on youtube. Also, as the national anthem of the Eastern Empire, Ti Ypermaho Stratigo is a must have. That's "To Thee the champion leader".. that was the official hymn of the Eastern Roman Empire. Angelopoulos Choir of Greece has a very nice version.

So, alot of the manuscripts from the period we are talking about are lost, so Kukuzel in his extensive liturgical composing for the Orthodox Church is much of all we have from the period, however, there are ALOT of his stuff out there so it's not a problem of getting tired of the same stuff. But there are some ancient slavonic chants of Serbia and Bulgaria that I do have that are not Koukouzelos.. in general, any Bulgarian or Slavonic chants that you find using Byzantine melodies are probably older, because that is what medieval slavonic chant was like before the invention of alot of the more western sounding 4-tone Russian hymns in the 19th century.. Medieval Slavonic chants should sound more Byzantine than modern Russian. Visoke Decani has some things that are probably old and they are a serbian monastery in kosovo. Thanks, I got it! The stihiri might come in handy. They sound surprisingly Western to me though, kinda like Gregorian chants. Then again, as I said, I understand nothing from music, so...

Yes it does sound western, but byzantine music from the 12th century wasn't quite as elaborate as what we are used to hearing and recognizing as "normal" byzantine chant which we start seeing mainly in the 14th century and onward... notice that the tracks from th 14th century on the cd sound more what we recognize as "byzantine"
