Not really... most of those posters seemed like they where missing some braincells.

Just because they haven't said "Oh gee, we're working on a patch!" doesn't mean they aren't. There are no breaks in a developer's schedule, if they're not working on a patch they'll be working on an expansion, or something else. But they are working on a patch, and it will be out soon, I would expect in the next few weeks. It's unlikely we'll hear anything official until it's "gone gold" so to speak, since they won't put a released date to it until they know exactly what needs to be put in and when it will be done. Ok?

What I got from it was more the second link I posted- the devs are asking for a priority list of things to patch... that's odd considering they were in testing on the patch already (last I understood). So they are extending it to get more into it?

Seems likely.

It might amaze a few people, but they don't delay patches just to spite you. (I would though, you bastards.)

I have little doubt that the intense amount of community "Playtesting" the game got after release turned up bugs and gameplay imbalances that the team is keen to fix, and it's vary rare for developers to release patches incrementally.

When the patch comes out, I expect it will address, if not fix most known issues.

Alright this is all fine and dandy but if they plan on taking this out to several months or weeks they could've released a unpacker for the current code. Ugh.

Maybe they're they're asking about patch priorities because they've got the first patch (almost) ready for release, and so they're looking at what they need to move on to? Wishful thinking, I know, but I do so wish I'd finally be able to play the game now.

It seems as if they are taking more time to look at the bugs found by players, and add more than originally intended to the patch, hopefully this should cover most known issues at present.

Lusted has been continually updating them with bugs found, they must be loving him. HeHe.

An update on their progress would be good though, and I'm sure they could just release the unpacker seperately.

Apparently they need to patch the game first before the unpacker will work, so if they are going to hold the patch off so they can add more fixes releasing the unpacker seperately isn't an option unfortunately.

There is nothing in those threads that indicate that the patch is delayed.
PSYCHO V is just a regular person, he knows about as much as we do when it comes to the patch.
And the 2nd one, well that's just normal.
Wikiman kinda asked about it 2 weeks ago which is why Lusted has given them our bug list which is the same their bug list anyway but it is always good to have a bug list around.
And since according to Wiki, the first patch is in testing my take is that they won't add in anymore fixes so it is good to have a bug list so they can fix the bugs that they didn't get in the first one.

wouldnt it be better to release a must needed patch first and then work on another one?

neverwinter nights 2 still has a lot of issues but they did release a patch on the day of release already and a small one to fix a bad bug later. right now its version 1.02 and it seems like they are going to have version 1.03 before medieval 2 even has the first patch.

I must admit though that even with those 2 patches nwn2 still has a lot more problems than medieval 2 but they do add new content with the patches for nwn2.

Theres a thread on here that has a list of the "Confirmed" bugs. Tell me, when they say "Confirmed" does that mean they will be fixing them?

The only two bugs that are really chapping my backside are these...

Unit cohesion/spacing problems which lead to only front rank of unit charging sometimes, and seem to affect cavalry charges

AI sits there when it has no way of assaulting the settlement, after siege weapons are destroyed

I understand both of those are on said list, but i do not know if that means they will be fixed or if their just known bugs.

The initial patch will still be going ahead as planned. If it's at the QA stage then no new things will be being added. These requests by CA staff for patch wishlists or priority fixes will be for future patches/expansions, NOT for the current patch with unpacker.

Unit cohesion/spacing problems I think was discussed as maybe a new game mechanic. Fresh troops with no battle experience will go all over the field. Though I don't see why cavalry can't mow down a broken retreating force or maybe a very expensive barrack at a caslte could give +1 or + 2 battle experience.
