How do I call a Jihad?

Simple question. I havent lost a city yet(im the turks), but i am about to, but to the treacherous egypttians, will i be able to call a jihad versus them? I have been fighting the byzantines almost since beginning of the game. They even made me a vassal(i just wanted to see what it would be like), despite me taking nicaea(sp?) it made us allies and made me stronger, because i didnt have to spend all my money on recuiting units/mercenaries only to send them to hold the western flank of my empire. They attacked me again, but i just took constantinople, however I cannot call a jihad or at the very least I dont know where to go for that. Do i need to ally myself with egypt(not gonna happen) and/or the moors?

All you need is an Imam with a hight piaty level and the target has to have a majoraty of Muslams in the setalment. Open up the Imam's scroll and click the Jihad buton and you are off.

From what I remember it has to be against a non muslim faction with a significant amount of muslims in that country, so if its against egyptians I doupt it.

thanx guys, also if i call a jihad will it just be my faction or will the egyptians and moors join in? Also Im about to lose Antioch(Im actually fighting the battle as we speak, but im outnumbered over 3-1) since antioch obviously has alot of muslims will i be able to call a jihad on it, despite it being controlled by another muslim faction(Egypt)?

Yeah well, I don't think that's the case, for the AI anyway. Muslims called a Jihad against my 100% (or at least damn near it) Orthodox Byzantine Constantinople. One stack me it to my city, took me off guard, and nearly won. So much for majority of Muslims (for the AI anyway)

thanx, i just found out. u cant call it on a muslim city, or at least a city controlled by a muslim faction, and even your enemy(in my case egypt) can join it as well. egypt just took antioch and i called a jihad on thessalonica, and egypt pulled out a full stack for the jihad on that city, and we cant attack each other(at least the army that is on a jihad). The moors are gettin in on the action, allthough im besieging thesalonica with a full stack and my best general.
