If you could change one thing in MTW2 what would it be?

I'd improve A.I. Particularily when they're trying to assault a Citadel.
So many to choose from..... id have to go with larger city garrisons
or at least AI who is more protective of their cities.
The only time i get large scale city/castle battles is when i attack a capital![]()
Hmm......besides bugs I would like to see a few concepts such as Vassalship and Assassins go into a little more depth. I still want alliances that actually help you and I wouldn't mind a few other factions. And if I get really picky then I want merchants to make a little more money, but I'm thinking there is a way to edit some files to fix that.
Overall I am pleased with most of the game concepts
Life is an STD with a 100 percent fatality rate.
As it is right now, I would want better moddability.

For one, tie rebel popups in to the happiness rate of the province they are going to appear in. If I've got like 130%+ happiness, I don't want to see a lot of rebel popups going on.
My main problem would be the number of territories for certain factions. England and scotland can take 7 provinces wiping 1 of each other out, while the moors have 4 with all north africa and southern spain. Other factions have similar issues but i just used the moors as an example. -Leon
Diplomacy, Diplomacy, Diplomacy.
Rebellions, I want MTW style rebellions back in (a faction actually splits, not just one general deciding he could do better as a brigand in a cave).
And (yes this makes two things) I want the ability to assassinate my own family members.
A more complex battlefield AI with smarter units and more features for your units to get you stuck into the battle deeper. The only things of that nature that I can think of at this second would be a camera where you could go into the view of any of your soldiers in any units, being able to name your individual units, and having voice activated commands (maybe a little high tech) but you could yell, "Charge!" for example and your men would charge at the nearest enemy units, or "Take cover!" or "Attack his archers!", etc. Just figured I would add those ideas even if I doubt they will be in the game any time soon.
Naval Battles:
Naval battles to be more complex, even if not on a battle map.
Allow a few tacitical option for the computer resolution.
(Have each faction develop naval techs that can open tactical options on the battle screen.)
Merchants:
Get a mega bonus once a trade monopoly is established.
For example ; cheaper armour upgrades for iron monopoly, population bonus for wheat/fish monopoly, naval/building bonus for timber monopoly etc.
These bonuses can inversely have a detriemental effect on other factions and far worse effect if no trade rights are set up at all.
Attrition:
Units in the field ( ie. not in a town/castle ), should begin to diminish in size after 3 or more turns out in the open. Seems stupid to me that armies with 1000's on men can live outdoors indefinetly.
Dipolmacy:
More options like eg. Transgression warnings, Vassels fixed ?
Well if it was only one thing I would like to have seen the movement/turn length/aging sorted or alternatively a choice of starting periods.
At the moment it you leave the turns set at 2 years your characters will be generally about 250 years old by the time they die which is ludicrous. It also means that it would take an army about 8 years to march the length of England which again is ludicrous. I know why theyve done it (so that the characters have time to develop otherwise they would die pretty often) but for me the only way to go in this game is to play with half years per turn which tends to work reasonably accurately. But it means that it will be a hell of a long time before I get onto the gunpowder units. It would have been nice to have the option to start in 1300 or 1400 etc.
Eras, I really miss them. Second one on my list would be more characters, which I could give titles to. Well, I miss many things from M1, but I'll just rank the eras first.
