    Awesome, but AFAIK Mitch's Mod caused quite some lag due to its size.

    Will you go for a smaller, but easier to use version, or a hardcore extended version like Mitch's?

    So far we don't have any lag issues and we are aiming for something as extended as Mitch's version.

    Wow! You guys are amazing! My modding skills have so far been limited to messing with tables in pfm files, but please let me know if there is anything I can do to help!

    Bravo litharion (i already gavemy bravo's to Mag) if carefull historic data is kept (and i am sure it will) , this project will be an asset for the game.Also the presence of your names guarandees perfect balance.. If you need some info on demographics feel free to ask although my info evolve mainly in the Hellenistic world. I dont have much on Rome currently .On the other hand this time period Greeks were relying on mercs and regular armies and not strickly citizens so maybe not a room for this system for Hellenistc factions..In any case again bravo.Cheers.

    At least in the time of Alexander, the mercenaries would still have been drawn from the Macedonian citizens (those that were trained to fight in a phalanx, at least), so you could probably justify the use of this system even there. In the past, I have suggested a rebalance of the cost of mercenaries, though, to reflect their widespread use (they are almost never cost-effective in-game): essentially making them twice as expensive to hire as similar-tier recruitables but with only about 1.2x the maintenance.

    Regardless, I have been reading a bit about ancient Celtic history lately, and can probably find some sources as to what Celtic populations would have been like, and maybe help find a way to translate it into this system. I imagine that the border Celto-Germanic areas could make good use of the "foreign" population setting!

    Honestly it's amazing what determined modders can do. This is a great boon to VV and DeI, and to the community as a whole. And since we know custom battle maps can be made - and by extension custom, unique cities, we can really see important places like Syracuse, Jerusalem, Capua, Pergamon and others come to life as they should be, and not the little villages they are in battle.


    Hopefully one day there'll be a breakthrough in campaign map modding - if there is, this game will have so much more potential for greatness. As it is already I've been having great fun thanks to DeI. Keep up the great work guys!

    It is currently in development and will need a lot of work and testing. We plan on having it in DeI in the next major update.
