How do I avoid "Client-Army-Devastation" of my regions?

I am playing as Rome. Northern Italy is mine, the Alpine tribes have been succesfully reduced to client-state-status.

My problem: Multiple Client State Armies are "foraging" in my own territory over several turns up to the point where the Regions are completely devastated.

How can I avoid that development?

You have to maintain positive relations with that faction. If they're friendly to you (alliance doesn't matter), then they won't devastate your regions.

Well that would make my strategy "subjugate dangerous neigbours" very difficult indeed Augustusng

-They absolutely hate me afterwards. I cannot wait in any case until they are conquered by another faction in order to "free" them for beeing on good terms with them... Any idea how to improve relations with a recently subjugated faction quickly?

Well, I guess you could give them money or join them in a war. Fighting a common enemy helps, especially if you kill captives and raze cities.

Right and then set a target for them.They often leave my lands and go there to take a town or fight an army.

I m playing as rome in my current campaign ,maybe the most epic campaign I ve ever had(thanks dei team) and my satrapies are all over my lands.The most serious problem is in europe where there are almost 10stacks even from rhodes.I took the chance for example for the edetani to put them down because I ve warned them not to go around and destroy my lands(I like making stories while playing the game,it's more exciting).So tarraco is mine (the only town i have left as an ally in spain) and their other 3stacks in italy and alps are now dead.The same thing happened with rhodes my defensive allies that have started to hate me.I declared war,destroyed their 2 stacks in alps and left only their original capital until I m done with britania and the war with egypt..The ui of some armies says -2food and for others -1food but i have great relatioships with them.I m not sure if they consume their food or mine when they are on my lands.Because of my policy on how I construct buildings for each town,I don't have a great problem.I'm playing on vh/h.And for the end no DEI no fun,thanks again guys for saving our favorite game!

Seems that the Raeti and Nori will see someone knocking at their doors soon.

Apart from that: I could make lots of slaves out of cbattleaptives. I do not because I have no idea how to reduce slave polulation in provinces not entirely controlled by me. No edict, no substantial reduction?
