Game flips out when I use WASD, NUMPAD or UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT

When I try to move the camera using WASD, NUMPAD or UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT the game goes to 6x speed, opens the command console, disables sound and opens chat options.
Any idea how to fix this

I've had similar issues in the past (unplugging my charger cable, believe it or not). I believe I resolved it by updating the driver for my keyboard.

Thanks a lot!
I installed the microsoft mouse and keyboard centre which updated the drivers for my keyboard I think.
I also used the USB rather than the old style connector for my keyboard/mouse receiver.
Seems to have done the trick

Something I came across lately - my external 1TB drive's USB connection was plugged in directly next to the keyboard\mouse dongle. That played absolute havoc with responses from keyboard and mouse and drove me nuts until I decided to remove every other USB connection (after a nightmare of updating the keyboard driver). The external drive is now two slots higher then the dongle and the problem is solved.
