    We’re glad to announce that with the Steam Winter Sale, Christmas is coming to Cossacks 3!
    To celebrate the Holiday Season, the time of joy and happiness, and Steam Winter Sale, we’re adding a few surprises to our game:
    - A new FREE mission is added to the game. Help Santa to rescue his reindeer and save Christmas for people all around the world!
    - We’ve changed our main menu art, so it would be more suitable for this time of year;

    Your support was crucial for us this year. From the moment of release, your feedback and kind words have helped us to transform the game into something better. We cannot even imagine how the last 3.5 months would’ve gone without your constant support and assistance. For this we are forever grateful to you.
    On our side, we promise to work even harder on the game during the next year and bring updates and pleasant surprises to you even more frequently. In a few days we’re going to post a roadmap, that will showcase the upcoming content to Cossacks 3, that we are working on.     Patch Notes 14.01.17 (1.2.5.60.4425)
    Main Changes
    1. The global population limit has been increased to 32 000 units per map (2x bigger in comparison to the previous limit).
    2. The game now properly scales UI on 4k monitors.
    3. The game now properly scales UI on low-resolution monitors.
    4. After finishing or exiting a story mission the game will go back to the campaign screen now.
    5. Fixed animations of sails and paddles.
    6. Improved the building allocation mechanism, now players can place buildings closer to trees.
    7. Lobby settings now get saved in the multiplayer shell as well.
    8. Fixed an error in the enemy detection mechanism, which made units ignore their closest targets and allowed them to continue following their previous enemy.
    9. Fixed an exploit that allowed players to destroy enemy’s walls by blowing up unfinished foundations of walls near them.
    10. Enhanced controls over a group of formations. If one of the formations is looking into opposite direction that the others or it is far away from other, then all of them will be regrouped and placed close to each other. Formations can now immediately reverse their movement, when the player commands them to go into an opposite direction to the one they are facing.
    11. Set resource delivering priority to warehouse and town hall is now the same for peasants. Prior to this change peasants prioritized warehouse as a place where to deliver gathered resources.
    12. The mercenary dragoon units from Early Bird edition now share the price (and inflation rate) with common mercenary dragoons.
    13. You can now select ships in the same way, as land units. You can do so by using a combination of Ctrl + Q keys
    14. General optimization of the game has been imporved.
    Performance
    1. Fixed a bug that caused crashes during autosaves and manual saves in campaigns for some users.
    2. Fixed a crash in the fifth mission of the Austrian campaign, that was caused by a mission trigger with the ships.
    3. Fixed some problems with path finding. This issue had a chance of occurring in any mission, but was frequently encountered in the first Russian and third Polish campaign missions.
    Controls
    1. Now when you send a formation or a group of formations to a new location with a Ctrl key held down, they will maintain their orientation.
    2. You can now order 100 units of any kind by holding Ctrl + Alt and clicking on their icon in the appropriate building. (you can cancel the command by clicking RMB on the icon again)
    3. You can now order infinite construction queue of the same unit in 5 different buildings by selecting them and holding Ctrl + Shift and clicking on the appropriate icon. (you can cancel the command by clicking RMB on the icon again)
    General
    1. Fixed an error, that caused case shot to deal significantly lower damage.
    2. Fixed a bug, that caused a wall that player was planning to build to change to the another player's type of wall, which he was constructing at that moment
    3. Fixed a rare bug with map generator, that allowed the game to spawn 2 players on the same spot.
    4. Fixed an issue with 18th century officer attack upgrade.
    5. Fixed an issue with king’s musketeer defense upgrade.
    6. Wall foundations that have less than 1/3 of HP will now automatically self-detonate when any unit will try to approach them (previously this affected only military units).
    7. Fixed a bug, that caused map settings to reset in a saved game.
    8. Fixed an error, which occured in a situation when the game’s language options in Steam and in-game differed and caused texts to appear with wrong localization.
    9. Fixed a rare bug, that prevented Early Bird bonuses and DLC from displaying correctly to certain users.
    10. Fixed a system error, that may have intervened with some mission triggers.
    11.Balanced the "Huge armies" starting option for Ukraine, Turkey and Algeria
    12. Fixed an error in the third mission of the Russian campaign, that hindered the progression of it.
    13. Fixed a bug, that allowed players to see resource nodes’ icons while other players were loading.
    14. Made some tweaks to the loading screen, texts are now displayed on parchment.

    Rise to Glory allows you to take up the mantle of the greatest military leaders of all time and participate in battles that defined the world’s history as we know it. Among other things, it introduces numerous new features to the game: new nations, environments, units, custom campaigns and scenarios and much more!
    Main features:
    Prussian campaign: Assume the role of Frederick the Great and lead the mighty Prussian armies into the fiercest skirmishes 18th century Europe have ever seen.
    Swedish campaign: Experience the rise of Sweden to its position of the global power under the leadership of Gustavus Adolphus, a genius military leader who invented the modern way of conducting warfare.
    New Original Units: 7 new units come into the game, 3 of which are completely new.
    New environments: Take out your winter coats, as Rise to Glory introduces winter maps to both singleplayer and multiplayer modes.
    New nations: mighty Bavaria and Saxony – favorites of the old fans – make a comeback to display the military might of German states.
    Custom missions: three singleplayer scenarios will allow you participate in exciting historical battles that took place all over Europe.
    As a reminder, Bavaria and Saxony will be available to everyone for free in one week after the release of the DLC! Deluxe edition and DLC owners will get an exclusive 7-day access to them and new units, everyone else will get their hands on them on 22th of February.

    We are thrilled to announce that from today Cossacks 3 fully supports the Steam Workshop functionality!
    As the library of mods for Cossacks 3 grows bigger by the day, we decided that there’s a dire need for a convenient place to store and share user created modifications. And what place is better than the Steam Workshop – a new part of our amazing community hub, where players can publish, organize and deliver their creations to every person playing Cossacks 3.
    We’ve also updated the game and our trusty Mod Manager, so now they are fully intertwined with the Workshop and provide the best possible service to our players.
    We also have some exciting news for Mac and Linux users: on 15th of March Cossacks 3 will finally become available on MacOS and Linux platforms! Venture forth onto the battlefields of the 17th-18th century Europe and enjoy the fully polished Cossacks experience with your friends, regardless of what platform you're using - the game supports crossplatform play and allows you to play against players across all platforms.
    As a bonus, every Mac & Linux user that purchases and logins into the game during the first two week after the release will receive an Early Bonus package, identical to the one given out during the Windows release.
    Here’s what you can expect with today’s update:
    Patch Notes 03.02.17 (1.3.1.61.4532)
    The Steam Workshop
    1. Download content created by other players and tailor the game to your liking or share your own creations with the world;
    2. Extended Mod Manager functionality: mod management has never been so easy!
    3. Automatic synchronization: you can automatically synchronize and download required mods from within the game. The game now makes sure that everyone uses the same mods and version of C3.
    4. Sessions with enabled mods are now marked with a special symbol in the multiplayer shell.
    New mechanics:
    1. Units will now experience collision when they approach enemy troops. Each unit now has a radius that will prevent enemies from going through them. This severely affects the cavalry units, as they won't be able to pass through units and make diversions behind the lines.
    2. Land units can now engage each other more easily.
    Changes to gameplay
    1. The upgrades to firepower from the academy now recalculate after each unit's personal upgrade. Now they are not influenced by the amount of firepower units have at the moment of upgrade and scale independently. This heavily influences the early game stage and affects Serdiuk, 18th century musketeer of Prussia and Denmark.
    2. Resource gathering upgrades now influence the respective nation where they were learnt and don't stack together.
    3. "No cannons" option now fully disables artillery, not only cannons.
    New game options
    1. "No diplomatic center", "No market" and "Without either" options are now available in the lobby.
    2. It's now possible to set starting locations: random positioning or allies grouped together.
    Performance and AI
    1. Optimized the combat and target selection for units.
    2. Optimized the way AI thinks and reacts, sped up the processes
    New in-game notices
    1. Now the game determines if you have a video card unsuitable for playing the game and will notify the player. In this case, you need to update your video card drivers from the manufacturer's website.
    2. Now the game will notify you, if it will find only an integrated video card, not a discrete one. If such situation occurs, we recommend you to update your video card drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
    Fixed errors
    1. Fixed "stuck" units, which ignored orders.
    2. Fixed a bug, when after ordering a unit to go to an unreachable spot (mountain, building or water) the unit stopped reacting to the enemies nearby till the next order.
    3. Fixed an error, which caused the game to reset the blue colored player options.
    4. Fixed a bug, when units near one edge of the map could start moving in the direction of the opposing edge.
    5. In rare cases peasants would ignore "Build" or "Repair" orders. This was happening due to them already being on the spot where required action would take place.
    6. Fixed the "disappearing upgrade". Prior to this, certain upgrades would disappear from buildings if those buildings were captured earlier.

    Once again, we would like to thank all the dedicated players and mod makers for supporting us – you inspire us to make the game better.

    Those Winter map looks wonderfull and cold I love the new winter textures for the buildings and trees. You guys keep doing a good job. There are just to many gamedevelopers these days that release a game and immediately stop all support and patching.

    I have a question. For the new DLC Rise to glory you said: New Original Units: 7 new units come into the game, 3 of which are completely new.

    So there are 4 units from the original Cossack 1 game. But Bavaria and Saxony only got 3 original units in total, if I am correct. Bavarian 18thc musketeer. Saxony Cav guards and Saxon grenadier. What unit am I missing here?

    Your knowledge about Cossacks game are enviable, but you forgot about Saxony 18thc musketeer ) he have the best fire power and longest recruiting time in the game.

    Starting from today, nations of Saxony and Bavaria are now available to every Cossacks 3 owner, regardless the edition. Each new nation brings exciting new things to the game: unique units, original soundtrack and marvels of its architecture. Make your enemies flee at the sight of your mighty German armies! But we're not done yet, as not only "newcomers" are getting updated - Sweden and Prussia players cam brag about new units as well!

    Dear friends!
    Meet the new grand update to Cossacks 3! In this patch we added the missing elements of the ranked mode, fixed some crucial errors and revamped the balance of all gunners, i. e. musketeers and grenadiers. More details below!
    Multiplayer:
    1. A host's rank is now displayed in the shell's room list.
    2. The ranked score is now displayed alongside their names in lobbies.
    3. Players can now see their position in the ladder, even if they are not in the top 100.
    4. Fixed an issue when a multiple players spawned at the same spot.
    5. Fixed the ""uncontrollable"" units, that ignored orders and didn't receive any damage from enemy attacks.
    6. Fixed an error when the session's season wasn't displayed correctly to all players in the room.
    7. Fixed a bug, that caused huge lags on naval maps and resulted in desynchronizations.
    8. Fixed rank display in the multiplayer mode.
    9. Players are now sorted above the mini-map: players from the same team are displayed together, different teams are separated by a line, while players without a team are listed last, "
    Localization:
    1. Spanish and polish localizations are now available for Rise to Glory DLC.
    2. Fixed some typos and errors in English and Ukrainian localizations.
    General:
    1. Fixed a bug, when recently produced units that were moving to their gathering point would lose their order if they encounter a hostile unit.
    2. Fixed the Access Violation error that often recurred in 20-30 minutes after starting a match, loading of a save, or exiting to the main menu. Unfortunately, save games with this error are unfixable.
    3. ""Surrender"" button now works correctly in singleplayer missions.
    4. Fixed an error with galleys, when they refused to attack a building if the target was in between the ranges of their first and second cannons.
    5. Ships now won't sail on land.
    6. Fixed lighting, now the map won't get too bright if you hover over to the lower left corner.
    7. Fixed the animation of artillery, that occurred after loading up a save file.
    8. Fixed a glitch that allowed to order multiple upgrades simultaneously, despite paying only for one.
    9. The name of the Bavarian musketeer is now displayed correctly.
    10. Fixed a number of errors with player separation above the mini-map."
    Changes to the economy:
    1. An academy is now required to produce units in the diplomatic center.
    2. Reduced the mine upgrade speed from 15.5 seconds to 9 seconds.
    Changes to unit balance:
    TL;DR: Nerfed elite musketeers, rebalanced damage of bayonets, overhaul to hired grenadiers and all 18th century gunners.
    Grenadier (mercenary)
    - fire power increased from 4 to 18
    - Increased reloading time from 3.4 seconds to 3.75
    - Slightly increased the bayonet attack range
    - Increased cost of shot from 1 iron/3 coal to 3 iron/4 coal
    - Increased the grenade's damage from 110 to 200
    - Pauses between grenade throws of a hired grenadier is 0.33 times bigger than of the usual one
    - Increased gold consumption from 20 to 25 pieces
    - Decreased the range of fire from 850 to 750
    Musketeer 18c
    - decreased the melee damage from 18 to 10
    Musketeer 18c (Prussia)
    - decreased melee damage from 22 to 12
    - fire power decrease from 55 to 35
    - decreased the price from 240 to 200
    - increased coal consumption from 1 to 3 coal per shot
    Musketeer 18c (Bayern)
    - decreased melee damage from 9 to 6
    - fire power decrease from 55 to 35
    - increased the price from 35 to 160
    - increased coal consumption from 1 to 3 coal per shot
    - decreased the production time from 7.03 to 5.62 seconds
    - decreased the damage that melee upgrade granted from 2/3/4/5/6/10 to 1/1/1/1/1/1
