    Icon1 Bodyguard Units

In SS bodyguard units are less overpowered compared to the vanilla medieval, so, if we want to use our general we need to have triple careful!

In my campaign with Norway I' am in a fierce duel with Kievan Rus that, by the way, is the second biggest empire in the game and to help (sarcastic), the european bodyguards are substantially weaker than eastern fellows, so there is a big disadvantage in my opinion, even more because their units consists in a large portion of anti calvary units.

F or example the Europeans have an attack of 5 and the easterns of 9.

So what would you do? Play as they are or give up to the temptation of changing them on the descr_unit.txt?

Yeah, you could change the descr_unit.text, however you will have to do the same in regards to the Seljuks, Fatimids and Byzantines, so I would approach differently:

    1. I would make sure i have sufficient numbers of spearmen, the AI is dumb enough to allow the enemy general to charge straight into your line.
    2. You will have access to Crossbowmen, make sure you have them behind your spears, excellent anti armour weapon, take them down
    3. If you can get Javelins, also very good against armoured cavarly
    4. Finally, Scandi factions have access to axemen, also great against armoured cavarly, send them in once cavarly engaged with your spearmen
