    Default 2 unit comparison calculator

    Hi,

To be in tone with my previous thread I say another very good (small)application would be a raw power calculator between 2 units; this for knowing which one is in term of stats better (brutto), to place them aginst enemy one. I mean a small calculator where you introduce all stats numbers and get the strongest one ! Thank you.

Just as trying to test units 1vs1 in custom battle, this isn't a very helpful idea. Battles in Rome 2 are dynamic with various unit types and strategies. The combined arms aspect means 1v1 doesn't tell you much.

That plus certain units are made for certain roles, hence their true value is not so obvious in 1v1 tests. For example basic falxmen will be defeated by hoplites in frontal combat but if flax units will flank those hoplites, then they will finish them off muuuuch faster then any other melee unit that is normally even able to win against hoplites frontally.

Better yet if you can't use Pack file manager, use Honga or this more recent spreadsheet: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9ihuxhloax...1gdw.xlsx?dl=0

Thank you very much for reply but that's not what I want. And I know why I ask about that kind of ''calculator''; and I know that isn't a perfect method to compare 2 units, but I mentioned clearly RAW/BRUTTO POWER or whatever you want to call it (in a virtual head-to-head battle, no bonuses, no penalties, no range, no missiles damage, only melee). Introducing both stats and resulting the relative ''more strong'' one. I think somebody here already point the solution: the cost of units ! Now, I want to ask this: is any other factor counted other than units stats when calculating the (starting) cost ? If not, than the cost is my ''calculator''.

I just found on Honga a unit comparison menu but can't figure how to use it...

Mostly just looking at unit price is enough. Unit costs are reflecting their stats as I prepared special formulas to calculate costs based on units stats.

    Kam,
I'm glad to hear that these costs and wages are not based on "intuition." Can you provide some insight into your method?
I lead a mod for Warband that is trying to develop a price model for different weapons, armors and troops.
Is it based on a linear model or a curve?
Did you look into Magnar's cost method from VV?
Did you use Excel or another data tool?

They are cost formulas that differ based on the unit type. They take into account things like armor, damage, range, etc. Originally they were done via scripts. Lately I have started using a spreadsheet to calculate them.
