House Volmark of Volmark is a noble house from the Iron Islands. Their seat of Volmark is on the island of Harlaw, and they are sworn to the house of the same name.
They have large holdings on the island and have a decorated history.
They blazon their arms with a black leviathan on a grey sea. Their words are Terror will Rise.

She is battle-hardened and boats about her skills in battle more often then not. She wants to prove that her strength is equal to every man. From a young age she has seen that woman are treated in a different manner from men. Ironborn have proven themselves to be better in realizing that woman too have power and strength, but still it is not enough in her opinion. Her mother was his fathers favourite wife, she however was only a salt wife. Abducted from the shores of near Starfall. Rumoured to be the daughter of a noble knight. However, it is as likely that she was just a daughter of a fisherman or a goat shepherd, only claiming to be of noble blood to boast some standing in her new home. Jyzene was strong, independent and beautiful, she quickly adapted to her new invirement. She converted to the Drowned God swiftly and was admired for her strong personality - a trait inherited by her daughter and complimented of her Ironborn husband. She was a great rival of the Rock wife of Endehar Valmark, but soon it was she who was his true wife in all but name. This in anger of Esgred's half-siblings, who saw their mother being set aside for a salt wife. They bullied their half-sibling Esgred and made her life miserable. Ironborn culture was harsh, living with elder siblings was even worse. Her father did little to protect her, as he was always away on sea. So from a young age she had to stand up for herself. She grew stronger in the years and soon the other kids where scared of her. Becoming older, shy of being a maiden, men begane to pay attention to her. And not always wanted. She knew that it would never be over. She would never be completly safe, if she did not make something of her life herself. She had no talent of subordination so she never dreamed of becoming just lady wife. Instead she picked up a sword, becoming a shield-maiden. Her father was proud of this and took her with him on his ship and raised her to become an warrior. At 31 she found herself the ruler of Volmark. She is unmarried and childless. She is known to have enjoyed the company of men, especially very comely men. Her bedmate is a large man of the Summer Isles. She once stated that she should be entitled to have Rock and Salt husbands, like her male counterparts. She is known to have said that she had relatives enough to ensure that house Volmark would continue, but also that she would marry a man who proved to be her better.
