Default Harlaw Hall, the ancient Holdfast of House Harlaw

    "Fear the Reaper"

    House Harlaw

    Ralf Harlaw

    Name: Ralf Harlaw
Titles: King of Reapers, Lord of Harlaw Hall and High Lord of Harlaw, Lord Reaver of Harlaw
    Nicknames: Ironwolf, Half-Hand
    Age: 51
    Traits:
    +3 Battles
    +3 Naval Battles
    +3 Fear(Charisma)
    +3 Wealth
    Family:
    Numerous Salt Wives
    Arya Harlaw - Rock Wife
    Harras Harlaw - Son
    Hotho Harlaw - Son
    Rickard Harlaw - Son
    Asha Harlaw - Daughter

Bio: Ralf Harlaw was the first born son of King Stygg Harlaw, the fool. Stygg had a rather tenuous hold over his vassals. Nonetheless, Ralf grew up as any Ironborn would, fighting and reaving. On his first raid, he was badly wounded, and was lost in the Northern Wilderness. As the tales go, he met a Dire Wolf, and succeeded in bludgeoning it to death with his steel clad fist, earning him the name Ironwolf. He also lost several fingers in the same encounter, which bequeathed the name Half-Hand unto him.

He served as the only thing holding Harlaw together for years, until his father died in a tragic "accident", when his bed caught fire. Ralf swiftly took up his inheritance and hammered Harlaw into shape. He rules by sheer force of will. That, and the terrible fear of his name, swiftly repaired the damage done to Harlaw.

He is cruel, ruthless and without mercy. He has bedded many wives - both salt and rock - over the years, and truly has a soft spot for many of them. It has often been observed that he loves children, often being seen tutouring his own personally. He is a born conqueror, and eyes the lands of Westeros with avarice.

The lords of House Harlaw had arrived at the castle of Harlaw Hall. They awaited the arrival of only Volmark and Stonetree.

A boat sailed into the harbour of Harlaw Hall, the ironborn could have chosen to go on the road, but an boat was much faster and much more like the Ironborn. With an confident treat she jumped from the boat, flanked by both male warriors and schield-maidens was lady Volmark. Her blonde hair weaving in the wind, her eyes fixed on the castle which was called Harlaw Hall, one of the greatest noble houses in the Iron Isles. She was curious why she had been summoned to Harlaw Hall, it was not much like the Iron Born to treat their vassals in this way, but she was curious in what he had to say what was so important. Harlaw had many vassals but she was one of his strongest. Lord Harlaw was an old man, but he had sons and daughters to follow him; and he had even more wives to please him.

When she and her men entered the hall, she noticed that she was one of the last to enter. She nodded to her liege. "My king," she looked around. "I Have come."

Ralf Ironwolf looked around the assembled delegates and lords coolly. His eyes fixed upon Lady Volmark and he nodded slightly in reply. He glared around his nobles once more. "Ironborn, this year, you will not be allowed to reave independently." Many of the lords instantly became angry. Who was Ralf Harlaw to tell them what they could or could not do. King or no king. Ralf stared his lords down coldly, before putting his hand up and commanding them to stop. "I have plans for your ships. I want them in the bay of Harlaw Hall a week from now. Every ship, sailor and warrior you can muster, excluding the levies. You will profit from my plans, but you will not go off reaving on your own. The consequences would be severe." He fell silent, clearly waiting to see if any of them had questions.

Ulptur grimached, he stepped forward to speak.. "My King.. You were witness to my conversation with Rangvaldr. I looked to you for confirmation severel times. With your silence I thought you approved of me accepting their invitation.". What was going on? Ulptur was utterly confused.. And a bit scared... The king hadn't said a word. And he had just mustered the Stonetree ships for his reaving just last month. This was strange.. unorthodox.. Maybe he suspected attack from another Iron King but didn't want to say it directly at this assembly? He continued with his charming, calm voice.. "I've already informed my sister on my short visit home, before returning here. That her services leading the fleet were required within a few weeks."

Ralf's cold eyes turned to Ulptur. He rose from his throne. "Our reaving will not be poor fishing villages or farms. I intend to sack Oldtown and Hightower, as well as Highgarden, and the Arbor and the Oak Islands. You will be rolling in gold by the end. But I will need every ship I can muster. To this end, I have invited Kings Drumm and Hoare to a meeting to discuss an alliance. Her services will be required, Ulptur, they will be required for Harlaw. I will reave the very soul of the Reach, and we will have enough gold and prizes to cover every inch of this island!"

Ulptur swallowed.. He felt his mouth water a bit at the thought..."Well.. Erhemm, My King. Ofcourse we'll honour your summons. But I fear what it might do to our reputation, should you be unable to convince them to join... The sanctity of our word. Us Stonetrees have always done as we promised or kept our tongue. Something your family have been able to trust in us for more generations than records are able to track back. In the case your don't manage to persuade them to make a joint venture.. I request my brother be allowed to dispatch a token force to be sent so that our word haven't rung hollow.". He was a animated speaker his short dark hair and eyes gleaming as he spoke.

Ralf nodded slowly. Appearance meant much in these islands. "Very well, send a small squadron of ships, but send only one longship, the rest can be small longboats. I will need all of my longships."

He nodded. "Thank you my King.". And then he respectfully stepped back.
