    Default Concept: Age of Charlemagne 11th Century Mod

    This is just a concept for a possible mod for Age of Charlemagne.

    Year 1070 AD

    Christianity now dominates Western Europe with the conversion of the Magyars and Norsemen. After the battles of Stamford Bridge and Hastings, the Viking Age has passed. In its wake the feudal nations of England, France, Castile, Hungary, the Holy Roman Empire and others have risen to dominate Western Europe. William the Conqueror and his Normans conquered England from the Saxons and at the same time the Normans led by the de Hautevilles expand their control over southern Italy. Meanwhile in Spain, the Christians and Muslims continue their war for control over Iberia. While in Germany the Holy Roman Empire is reformed under the descendants of the German tribes that Charlemagne defeated and converted.

    I know that not all factions could be playable at once but the mod would be split between the main mod and then other mods that make the various factions playble that could be toggled on and off for different groups of factions.

    I am sure there gonna be Medieval 3 sonner than mod like this gonna be finished.

    Great idea! I wanted something like this so bad I started working on a mod myself but the campaign will start just after the death of Edward the Confessor in 1066. Though I have no experience modding the startpos file. I have made some progress on units, faction emblems etc. but the campaign map editing is going to be a .....

    Funny thing, as soon as this campaign came out I immediately wrote up a political and trait map to a 11th century total conversion starting after the death of William the Conqueror similar to the proposal above but slightly more simple and historically accurate. I just wish I knew how to mod. None of the tutorials that are put up make a lick of sense at all. A real shame too. I would really like to see this become a thing.

    I had the same idea with 1066 man, i have every faction roster and buildings line with historical outlines, experience in startpos editing, also quite a while ago when I began with another to plan a similar thing for the last roman campaign the medieval kingdoms team sent me over a bunch of assets (now outdated with old texs though). The only real in game work though is a couple of dozen working faction icons, and an old outdated startpos for the last roman.

    If people here are actually serious we could start a group. Oh and also I have direct acces to everything from TW: karling, including the muslim roster (though the models don't show up in ak for me), my own ones of course wich can be edited for a later time-period. I would (maybe) like to do startpos, buildings and units for Vikings and Anglo-saxons. The problem is I gonna finish a bunch of units for desperatis rebus and also get a functional campaign going (i feel I'll have to abandon some cool concepts there).

    It would be great if we could all get together as I said, maybe as an early independent part of medieval kingdoms (buildings icons and models support a lot easier, plus more publicity for both).

    and yet another thing, I have quite some experienc in mod teams so I can help anyhow organise interested parties, research and such in an effective maner.

    I am certainly interested to give it a go. I have some experience in creating shield patterns and I know how to create new units. I will be really busy with school in a couple of weeks but I am certainly interested to start a group. I would really like to do the units for the Duchy of Normandy.

    I'd like to help with some of the 2-D work, research and text. I can do some DB work too but I'm only really comfortable with variants. My Steam name is the same as here but I share the account so I might not always be available.
