    Default Guns not appearing yet?!

I'm playing SS6,3 as Kingdom of Castile and Leon, early campaign. It's 1363 and there are still no guns, no cannons, no nothing. I have huge cities with all of the necessary buildings, and a few citadels. But neither hand gunners nor cannons are anywhere, and there are no mercenary firearms either. Although I did find one unit of elephants near Kerman in Persia area.
Also shouldn't the Mongols be invading by now!?

Hello, I don't know when guns should appear, but have you experienced events in your current campaign, pop up windows informing you about historical things throughout campaign? If not, then in your campaign events don't trigger, meaning introduction of new units tied to them. You should in that case go to medieval.preference.cfg file and set disable_events variable from 1 to 0, and start a new campaign.

I'm pretty sure I saw some events way at the beginning.... but I haven't seen any for gunpowder pop up, or the Mongols (and I control a large portion of the east so I can see clearly that there are no invading Mongols). I think I'm going to have to start a new campaign, which ing pisses me off given how much time I put into the current one, and considering how sweet the armies of Leon would be late campaign with those Tercio Pikemen and Musketeers....
    Thanks for the help.

Check your medieval.preference.cfg file, especially "disable_events" variable. If it is set to 1, that is your problem. Some other M2TW mods change the file every time they are started. For instance, the Third Age is notorious for it.

Hello, as Mr.Blob said, you'll experience events during the campaign. If they didn't show up, you should reinstall it! If is not the case, gunpowder will be invented between the 140 150 turns (causing only the show up of mercenaries units like ribaults and monster ribaults, as I experienced in my game) and CANNON event will happen between the 205 230 turns. THE TURNS DEPEND OF THE TIMESCALE OF YOUR GAME!

Concerning the number of your turn, just one question because I didn't understand. Despite you donīt have gunpowder units available, their respective buildings are? Or Neither?

Nope, gunpowder buildings are not there either. The only gunpowder unit I have seen is elephants as mercenaries in Persia, and they appeared once. I had a feeling something was wrong with the game...

you get the gunpowder event but thats just the tech/knowledge. Production ability comes later with seperate events. Look at this way oh we have gunpoweder then they make prototypes. Then only years later do you get mass produced armies using them w/ training.

    1353 - Bombard
    1375/6 - Grand Bombard
    1422 - Arquebusiers
    1493 - Basilisk
    1510 - Musket

from another post, can't recall if these are accurate and i don't have ss on this comp. But i know full plate (required for some is like in 1450) and other events are required for other units besides the new era/gunpowder 1300 one. But you can look in the export_descr_unit file for all the required turns/years and techs/building levels.

yes mongols should invaded in the 1200s....they must of lost or something. Toggle_fow and check. If they never fired then yes your game is messed. But wait a few more years (by 1380 iirc) and you'll get the timurids which will be plenty.

Yeah, the Mongols never showed up anywhere...if I checked with toggle_fow, or looked at the diplomacy scroll, or anything. Plus I had merchants all over the eastern side of the map, north and south. I would have seen them. My game was ed up.
