The mod is going to be as historically accurate as possible, it's interesting how a few "amateur" guys put a lot of effort into researching accurate arms/armors and manage to build a more realistic medieval world, something CA (with hundreds of employees) failed at. I'm a fan of CA games but they are not that great when it comes to historical accuracy to be honest.

Hey I know what you're saying, and a lot of times I can agree with your sentiments, but when you are modding as a hobby it usually means that you: are super passionate about the game/subject material, and that you have unlimited freedom as to what you dedicate your 'work' hours into. CA also have to put into consideration deadline (the cause of most inaccuracies or things that just plain don't add up when its shipped) and budget. Modders have a real opportunity to add these little details that really makes stuff shine, and most mods are on a "it will release when its finished". Believe me, if CA had that same policy I would be so happy to wait longer and at the end get a much more detailed and encompassing game for it. But in game development as a career these things don't fit.

    Much love

    God bless.

The Total War series have never been very strong on historical accuracy, but then they have to strike a balance between putting $$$ in that -- for (at best) a modest increase in revenue, and putting $$$ into other areas. The reality is that unpaid amateurs or hobbyists will always have more time to devote to such considerations, when they're not burning through somebody's payroll.

Don´t forget to add a Campaign + Old Medieval Style build of buildings and not like Rome2/Attila

Then Burgund will Conquer the World

Cannons :O How will they work in the game? And the handguns :O Just one thing, will the pikemen fight in the style like in Attile? I mean the same stance? Or you will use something like medieval 2 had?

This looks superb. You guys really should release a version soon even if incomplete and then add periodic updates. I'm sick of the vanilla and AoC is quite underwhelming. Hoping you'll make the game great.

The dev team decided this faction needed some love/updates, and I jumped on the chance because I am second-generation French and it's very important to me that the French are well represented in this mod and portrayed accurately. The entire faction will be updated with our new assets. Also, there wasn't really a clear Tier 2 and 3 with this faction, so they will get a few new units to fill out the roster. I plan to do Tier 3 based on the Ordonnance companies of Charles the Bold's army. Here's a few updates so far:

Early period men at arms (duke's bodyguard), officers/fixed banners. (I haven't updated the tables yet, so please excuse the early period officer with some clearly high-period crossbowmen):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Tier 2 units will also be pre-Ordonnance uniform reforms, and match the early units in style:

    Post-ordonnance reform units:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Some additional units I have planned are Savoyard mercenaries, English Longbowmen, Knights of the Golden Fleece, High period will have lower-class men at arms and higher-class chevaliers, renaming of units to be more French and to fit better with the Ordonnance naming conventions. Also late period units will have special distinguishing banners like those they had after Charles the Bold's reforms.

Yes! Finally the old factions get a revamp! I hope France and England will receive the same treatment as well .

Yep! I'll also be doing some work with France and Warman is going to revamp the dirty English pig-dogs.

Curious just as to how many battles the knights of the golden fleece fought, as a unit. You know, considering that they were never many, and included people like French and Portuguese Dukes, Aragonese Kings and HRE counts.

It's good to see the older factions getting updated with new assets. I've noticed that this is the natural progression in the best quality mods, with the best modding teams. Medieval Kingdoms TW is certainly one of them. Just imagine what would've been if Attila was as moddable as Medieval 2 TW!
