My computer is Ideal for this game yet it gives me an error message when I try to click on setup to install it.... >>>(See PHOTO http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...55#post1180355) * I tried "setup" in "safe mode" which isn't working. * I tried to put the whole game on my computer via "Move Files & Folders" and then installing with no luck! * I just tried all night to dissect and put files into the Medieval 2 Demo Folder (confusing don't worry) didn't work! * And oh yes I've already tried formatting and reinstalling my entire computer! My last hope it seems is to make my crusade's outreach to this forum for help! Please "O Holy Forum" give me the power to smite this problem! Extra Info: I built my computer. I put some "Photos" of the errors I keep getting on the attachments. This is a DVD I am using. The game only comes in that form. When I click on setup it gives an error. Some times when I click on "demo32" (which is the thing that makes the setup start) it just hangs forever... Extra try: I have tried putting my DVD in my drive and then leaving it alone. Thought maybe my computer needed to just process the DVD but that didn't work either. Hey don't get me wrong maybe this would all be fixed if I used my credit card and bought the game online!... But then I'd have to convince the store clerk to take back the opened game. And most stores don't do that any more. Plus its a pain if you know what I mean every one. Join me in my crusade to... play a game I bought and paid for lol! FIXED THE PROBLEM

Ok, heres what I did.

I reformatted again this time only installing windows and 100% nothing else in other words no aol or office xp or real player spy-bot or goldwave or etc........

Just windows and nothing more. I don;'t even think I installed my vid driver lol

Infact I belive I didn't even bother to update windows! first thing I did after it said welcome to windows was put dvd in drive and boom it worked like a charm!!

Hope this helps people out there with same prob!

P.S. I kept tring to use paragraphs but it wouldn't let me. BTW cool signature thingy!

How do I update the install shield by the way??

I;ve never heard of doing that before.

well go to installshield site then enter ur error code there ,they will decode it and some update window will popup
i had installation problem for rtw 1.5 patch so i did the same thing
