Kas Shafra retaken and Captain Merennion defeat and retreated to Has Yayb.
Doom doom doom…
The thunder of marching Dwarves echoes across the vast lands north of Rhun. King Dain strides at the head of over sixteen hundred well-armed and armoured soldiers, eager for battle. He is pleasantly surprised when the Easterlings grant him the confrontation he seeks. Dain has to admire the courage of the Prince of Rhun, Margoz…but the enemy commander should have known better than to stand against such a mighty force of determined Dwarves.
The Easterlings fight fiercely, but are cut down in droves. Beaten and bloodied by the wrought iron fist of Dain, the survivors flee behind the thin walls of Kugavod, where they will find no refuge. The thunder of marching Dwarves draws ever closer…a sound of despair and a harbinger of a terrible demise for the Empire of Rhun.
Doom doom doom…

Sadly I couldn't defeat the big OOTM army, thanks new balance patch.
However took Dain's Hall with overwhelming odds and took an orc mountain fort aswell in the Misty Mountains:

If ever you'd be able to defeat that army, it would be with this new patch. The orcish factions were weakenend, while the Elves were buffed.
Then tell this to the game then Ada. I had more than 1000 troops, Celeborn to lead one of the army and the army power bar was a little bit in my favor, still only got defeats.
Maybe their recruitment were buffed, but everyones got buffed aswell and that OOTM army has some heavy goblins aswell.
Also your attacking to disturb doesn't help me either.![]()

I'll take a look at it later in the hotseat for reviewing the balance between the armies. Elf units are stronger now (particularly the earlier units) but OotMM didn't change much. The best Elf units are better than the best OotMM units but OotMM and OoG have much cheaper units so they can field larger armies.
The once great and beautiful Caras Galadhon falls into the hands of the orcs, who defile the place and make it their own! Celeborn died valiantly defending the elvish stronghold.

I see my point was altogether missed here. The odds are like 3:1 in that battle, since the orcs way outnumber the elves and have decent quality units. The 1:1 odds aren't a true representation of the armies strength, in my opinion. My point was that, if it was possible at all to defeat that army (which really wasn't), then it would be with the buffed elves, rather than with the old ones (old version). The elves are definitely stronger now, you can just look at the casualties sustained by the orcs in the past battles, and I'm sure this will be also evident after BlackWolf plays his turn. Btw, bump!![]()
I don't deny that the elves got buffed and to be honest I am fine with the changes, the only thing annoys me, when I get no victories after plenty of reloads in a 1:1 odd scenario.

Again, you shouldn't be fixated on the 1:1 odds, since the orcs really have the advantage there. Maybe it's not 3:1, but definitely better odds than the elves. I played many battles on different mods, where there were 1:1 odds, but couldn't win because of an obvious advantage of the enemy, which the odds ration doesn't show accurately sometime. Maybe if you put your general with the majority of your units and have the two units just join that could help with the odds, though I'm not 100% sure.
Maybe if Celeborn were in the city would have helped.
I know that the 1:1 doesn't accurate, but when is it?
Like in Action on the Anduin hotseat I barely managed to defeat Silvan Elves with Rhun at 1:1 odds. Like I always lost twice as many the elves did even if I won the field battles and I had numerical advantages every time.
It doesn't matter anything though, as I lost my west territories thanks to Mordor ganking on me aswell. Shouldn't you lurk in the Mirkwoods instead?![]()

The Dwarves spill the blood of nearly 600 Easterlings all over the ground inside Kugavod. After the slaughter, King Dain's forces march bravely onward to new conquests!

Of course my spies won't open gates this turn.
Hopefully next turn I can make the fair trade I deserve for losing that two SE settlement. Moria and Dol Guldur will do just fine for me. Dol Guldur is under siege aswell right now.![]()
