Seeing as how someone has interest though maybe it's not such a bad plan.
Believe in Hegemonia... Or the Megarian will get you.
Awsome, have you started the Cretan Cities faction yet?
Also, will they have any mainland settlements, or will they be confined to the island of Crete?
Thanks,
Tzif
Now you've got me interested. I realized that I have no idea about what was going on on Crete at this time, was each Creten city a semi-independant city state or was there a somewhat unified Creten state?
No on this topic- Crete.
Crete starts with three of the five or six cities on the island. Crete was never unified in this time but its up to you to change that. Unifying shouldn't be too easy - the other states will have large armies and I think they're somewhat rebellious. Once consolidated you'll need to get a foothold on the mainland or attack Rhodes or conquer yourself a thallosocracy to expand.
Of course we've started Crete, there is no unstarted faction. Most of the work we're doing now is other stuff.

Of course. Any other questions?

Yes snevets I got.
firstly: what work are you still doing and will heg be out lol before christmas?
I can't choose between Argos and Locria. This really bugs me. I now i only have doubted in my life about which faction I was going to play and that was three or two years ago when I played for the first time RTW. I picked the Julii.
The Argives and the Locrians are really the coolest factions of hegemonia CS.
Their personal histories are better than any other faction I have currently seen.
So Snevets,
any info about these two factions concerning difficulties and others?
Hmm. You've picked opposite factions in terms of strategy so its not hard to compare them. Here's the breakdown:
Locrians:
Their starting territory is spread out. Money is tight, making violating Delphi tempting- but that violates the very most important element of playing as the Locrians: not taking on the world at once. Because they have presences in Italy and the mainland you will be tempted to fight wars on two fronts. That could be disastrous, since you'll run the economy into the ground fighting Croton, Taras and Boetia all at once. You're advised to pick either the mainland or Italy and run with it until you're a real power. Bide your time basically...
Argos:
Ultra concentrated territory. You start at war with Sparta and your forces are very close to several Corinthian armies. You'll face some of the most challenging battles of your campaign in the first few turns, so this is a good faction for the more battle-oriented versus campaign oriented. Bide your time and you are dead...

Hmm I see...
They seem to be more unique than I thought firstly.
I really will need to think about it, but I guess it'll be Argos.
Thanks,
Quinctius.
Yes they are both different but they have the similarity of choosing your conflicts carefully, while Argos is more powerful than the lokrians they start in a difficult position as Snevets said Sparta, Corinth even Athens isnt too far from Argos so it becomes down to the player do you want to hit Sparta and hope Athens Corinth and the Boeotian Cities fight each other out or go north and leave a strong enemy in the South both have risks both have advantages

Is it really so that you will need to take care with your money and can only afford one army in the beginning? Is it that hard? (i hope so)
