House Manderly of Dunstonbury, High Lords of the Manderford, Lords of Dunstonbury

House Manderly is an ancient house within the Reach, dating back to the First Men who settled in the on the banks of the great river that divides the fertile lands of the Reachmen. Some claim that the river itself was named for the first Manderly lords who settled there. Far more likely is that they named themselves for the river they ruled over. Eventually, they swore fealty to the Gardner Kings, proving to be influential but somewhat fractious vassals. Like the rest of the Reach, they embraced the faith of the seven and intermarried with the Andal settlers.
In recent years, House Manderly has grown in stature, with the wedding of Lord Manderly to the Gardner Princess Gwynesse some years previous cementing Manderly power in the Reach. Recently, they have entered a power struggle with House Peake for control of the Kingdom during the later years of Garth Greybeard's reign, who has only manage to sire female heirs in his old age.

    Arthor Manderly,
    High Lord of the Manderford
    (32 years of age)
Arthor Manderly is the only surviving son of his father, the late lord Richard Manderly. Arthor was in fact the third child born to Lord Richard, and was displaced from the line of succession by his two elder brothers, Wendel and Cortnay. However, his brothers died when he was a young man - Wendel from plague, and Cortnay in a fight at a brothel. Arthor became heir to Dunstonbury at the age of ten, and squired alongside Lord Rowan. The two formed a fast friendship, albeit it has been strained in recent years. Both he and Rowan courted a certain Princess Gwynesse Gardener , the youngest daughter of King Garth Greybeard. It was Manderly who wed her, contributing to the rift between the two. While the marriage began happily, resulting in two early children, things soured from then on. Both Arthor and Gwynesse have an uncontrollable ambition - something that brings them together as much as it drives them apart. They are allies of convenience, with both seeking to gain from the other. In recent years, Manderly and his wife have attempted to increase their influence over the Reach - to enforce the accession of the rightful Queen. Arthor will stop at nothing to claim his wife's inheritance, and has long since discarded the chivalric attitudes that his father attempted to drill into him. He is cautious and cunning, with a gifted mind for rulership and strategy. House Peake is his sworn enemy, and he has continued the feud that started in the early years of the Greybeard's reign.

    House Hightower of Oldtown

House Hightower are considered one of the most loyal and powerful houses within the Reach. They are well-known being one of the oldest families too as once, the Hightowers ruled a kingdom during the time of First Men, the Old Gods and an era when the Reach was still under many petty Kings. It is said that during the reign of one of their legendary kings, Uthor of the High Tower, contracted Bran the Builder or his son to build a fifth tower of stone, setting the foundations for the Citadel. Even when they bent the knee through marriage to House Gardener, the Hightowers remained ever-loyal and vigilant of the seas to the South. To this day, their titles are grand and many; every succeeding Lord of House Hightower takes up not only the Lordship of Hightower, but also the Lord of the Tower, Lord of the Port, Voice of Oldtown, Defender of the Citadel and Beacon of the South. Their powerful walls make them a formidable foe, but also a target for Dornish and Ironborn raiders. Despite this, their grand walls have ensured the Hightowers have turn more to trading and commerce than war, ensuring that their power has grown with every successive generation, as more coin flows into its ports and enriches the city. Among these riches gained would be the Valyrian steel sword, Vigilance, which became a family heirloom of House Hightower, passed down from Father to Son.

Their greatest achievement was offering great patronage to the Faith of the Seven, which was brought by the Andal adventurers, and thus gained the right to house the great Starry Sept, the seat of the Faith of the Seven, the home of the High Septon and the gathering area of the Most Devout. This has led to close connections between the Hightowers and the Faith; even a few Hightowers have become High Septon themselves due to this close proximity. The Starry Sept was even built by a Hightower, a certain Lord Triston, in honor of his mentor, a Septon by the name of Robeson. In a ways, Oldtown is not only seen as a powerful economic center within the Reach, but also a very holy city due to the presence of the Most Devout and the High Septon. A great number of pilgrims flock to see the Starry Sept yearly in hopes of gazing upon the High Septon and receiving blessings from the Seven themselves.

    ====================================================================================

The reign of Garth X, also known as 'Greybeard,' ended in great disaster, not only for House Gardener, but many others suffered the consequences of Garth X's rule. To the North, the Westerlands marched their armies and invaded the green and fertile lands of the Reach. From the West came the hardy Stormlanders who also aimed to take prosperity and fair maids from the Reach. Yet the greatest detriment was the Dornish Invasion to the South. As one King struck at the heart of the Reach, besieging and sacking Highgarden, another Dornish King broke away and struck at Oldtown, besieging its mighty stone walls. As Highgarden burned and Garth was executed by the Dornish, Oldtown was siege and precious lives were lost. Shortly before the war, Garlan the Old died of age in his bed. He would be succeeded by Gerold Hightower, his eldest son, known as 'Strong Tower' for his tall stature and knightly reputation. Gerold would die in the initiate engagements of the Siege of Oldtown. Gerold had no children at that time as his betrothed and him were waiting for the war to end. The first son of Garlan was then succeeded by Gerold's brother, Desmond, another notable and great knight of House Hightower. Desmond was known as the Gallant and would lead the besieged Oldtown up until the time of Highgarden's sack. In a last ditch effort, the Dornish soldiers attempted to take Oldtown in hopes of sacking it, but failed. Humfrey Hightower died along with those who fought bravely to defend their home from the Dornish invaders. With no hope in sight, the Dornish King retired his weary forces and retreated into the Red Mountains.

With the death of Garlan's eldest sons, Gerold and Desmond, the Lordship of Oldtown would fall upon his third and final son, Arthor Hightower, known as the 'Little Tower.' Arthor was a man of no great talents compared to his older brothers. Although he was trained in the knightly code of the Reach, Little Tower was not destined to one day rule. In fact, Garlan the Old hoped that his youngest son would become a Septon one day and maybe become the High Septon. Due to this hope, Little Tower was educated by a Septon in the laws of the Faith, its history and codes, making Arthor a rather pious and devoted follower of the Seven. He was good at writing and an avid reader, spending much time in the Citadel's library as a young boy and having a Maester as his mentor. Yet many at the court of Oldtown knew of Arthor as a timid and inexperience man; he was no knight, no great soldier, his confidence was lacking and he shuddered at violence and anger. He was given nicknames such as the Timid and the Flinching, such nicknames that mocked the very surname and history of Hightower. Yet Arthor still managed to gain an advantageous marriage with House Beesbury and was known to have consummate the marriage, although some Lords wondered if the Little Tower was on the bottom or top of the affair. His wife was far more confidence and strong-willed than Arthor, making many at the court hope for strong offspring or perhaps the wife's traits rub off onto the Little Tower.

Arthor Hightower, High Lord of the Honeywine and Lord of Oldtown
Name: Arthor Hightower, the Little Tower
    Age: 25 (born 3,980 AH)
Title(s): High Lord of Oldtown, Lord of the Tower and the Port, Voice of Oldtown, Defender of the Citadel and Beacon of the South
Parentage: Garlan 'the Old' of House Hightower and Lady Costayne
Wife: Lady Adianna of House Beesbury
    Children: N/A
    Traits (7 points):
+1 Battle - Having survived the turmoil of the recent Dornish incursion into the Reach and the resulting siege of Oldtown, Arthor gained a little experience in battle when he was forced to draw his sword and take down a Dornish intruder, preventing them from killing a woman and her child. It was said, though, that after killing him, the Little Tower fainted at the sight of the blood...
+3 Wealth (+15%) - The port of Oldtown and its commerce have been cultivated over many generations of Hightower Lords with interested merchants from across Westeros. It has ensured great wealth was upon the lap of House Hightower which has been used to only further improve and expand the commercial venues of Oldtown.
+5 Duel (+4 from VS bonus; Vigilance) - Arthor was trained in the ways of Reachman chivalry and knighthood, but could never truly grasp it as a boy and teenager. Yet, despite this, his father still granted him a knighthood in the hopes that it would instill some talents upon his third son. When he succeeded his brother, Desmond the Gallant, Arthor inherited the family heirloom, Vigilance, a beautiful Valyrian steel sword. Although it was said, at his ascension ceremony to the seat of Oldtown and High Lordship, a retainer was ensured that Vigilance was handled well and not dropped...
+2 Survival - Surviving a Dornish incursion that sacked Highgarden, killed Garth Greybeard and two of your brothers would teach anyone a thing or two about surviving. Even if its a timid man like Arthor.
+1 Charisma (Hightower Bonus) - Being one of the most influential houses of the Reach has its perks when it comes to diplomacy and charisma when speaking.

Ser Gwayne Footly, Swornsword of the Reach
Name: Ser Gwayne Footly, the Humble (also known as Humble Knight)
    Age: 32 (born 3,972 AH)
Title(s): Swornsword of House Gardener (Formerly) and Swornsword of House Tyrell (Presently)
Parentage: Ser Hectyr Footly, the Hammer and an unknown Reach lady
    Wife: Unmarried
Children: 1 bastard (suspected): Gyles Flowers (10 years old, born 3,994 AH)
    Traits (8 points):
+3 Duel - Ser Gwayne is the descendant of Andal adventurers and of many Footly swornswords that served House Gardener faithfully for many generations. Gwayne was trained personally by his father, Ser Hectyr the Hammer, one of the mightiest knights in the Reach of his time. The Humble Knight learned much under the tutelage of his father and continued the legacy of faithful service that the Footlys are known for.
+2 Battles - Being a knight ensures that a swornsword gains experience not only in dueling, but commanding troops. Ser Gwayne was present at the siege of Highgarden and gained much experience facing the tenacious Dornish threat that would ultimately humiliate House Gardener and end the reign of Garth X.
+2 Survival - The siege of Highgarden gave Gwayne valuable experience when it came to learning how to survive for the sake of fighting another day. Even though any swornsword would have stayed at their liege's side, something told the Humble Knight that it was better that he lived to fight another day than die among the burning ruins of Highgarden.
+1 Charisma - His handsome looks and Footly legacy makes Gwayne a notable face among the knights of the Reach.

Ser Gwayne of the knightly family, Footly, is one of the many Andal lineages that came to the Reach during the time of Andal adventures across Westeros. Like Ser Alester Tyrell, Gwayne's ancestor, known today as Baelor Blackshield, for his massive shield of black metal, would come to the court of the last Sage Kings of the Reach, Gwayne V. Ser Baelor was nothing like the Gardener's champion, Ser Alester, but he was noted as a capable knight and served House Gardener even in old age. He would be succeeded by his own son, followed by his grandson, great grandson and so forth. From the days of Blackshield onward, many generations of Footlys, as the surname taken at some point in their lineage, would serve House Gardener with the same faithful zeal as Ser Baelor, who was seen as the model knight for his descendants. Ser Gwayne, later known as the Humble, was the son of Ser Hectyr the Hammer, who was known for his large and strong figure, earning him his nickname. Gwayne came to the court of Garth X after the peaceful death of his father and continue on with the Footly legacy; serving ably to House Gardener. Yet when the consequences of Greybeard's reign came to the very gates of Highgarden, Ser Gwayne would vanish shortly before the razing of Highgarden. Dodging Dornish patrols and heading south, Ser Gwayne would come to the Manderford Castle, the home of House Tyrell. From there, the Humble Knight would pledge his allegiance to House Tyrell in the hopes of one day serving House Gardener once more, just as the Tyrells were known for their loyal service to Highgarden as the hereditary High Stewards.

    House Peake of
    Starpike

Lorimar Peake, Lord of Starpike and High Lord of the Cockleswhent

Born the first, and only, son of Lord Uthor Peake, Lorimar's education as a ruler was honed from the beginning. He spent his first years in the loving care of his mother - until it was time to make a man of him. At five years old he was sent to Nightsong, where he was a ward of Lord Willum until he was 10, when he became a page. At 14, he squired for Lord Willum's oldest song - who would later be killed in a hunting accident - and at 17 he was knighted. Even from youth he was recognized as a brilliant strategist and tactician, and he was regarded as one of the best swordsmen in the Reach.

He returned home to a proud father and a delighted mother. Old Lord Uthor spent the next 3 years turning Lorimar into a formidable lord. He became an excellent administrator and a formidable politician. At 19, his mother died. Uthor knew his son had adored his mother, and decided the boy would heal best with marriage. He approached Greybeard, and Lorimar was promptly given the hand of Tyene Gardener, Garth's eldest daughter. Several years later his father died, and the young Peake rose to his inheritance mightily. Under his guidance the army's increased tenfold, the wealth rolled in and Peake became one of the strongest of the Reach houses, much to the distaste of the Manderlys.

Sadly, at 25, he fell from his horse and crippled his sword hand, destroying his once incredible swordsmanship. He can wield a sword better than any foot soldier with his left, but he is no longer capable of fighting a well trained knight.

Lorimar is a clever, ruthless and rather callous man - although he has been known to show occasional kindness. He is renowned for the desire to leave a lasting legacy for House Peake and his ambitions mirror that. It is said that he genuinely loves his wife and children, despite being infamous for being uncaring. He hates the Manderlys with all his core, and will see them gone from the Reach, once and for all...

Princess Gwynesse Gardener, Lady Manderly, Queen of the Reach

    Age: 30
    Married: Lord Manderly
    Children: see House Manderly
    Traits (8):
    Surrounded by servants: +2 Survival
    Royal Blood: +2 Charisma
    Cold Hearted: +2 Assassination
    Ways of court: +2 Spymaster

Princess Gwynesse is the youngest daughter of King Garth Greybeard. She was a disappointment for her father, from the moment of birth. He rushed through wives in order to get his price; a male heir. However, the only two who survived where Gwynesse and her sister princess Tyene. She grew up in Highgarden, at the royal court of her father. As a child, she idolised her elder sister, but later this adoration turned into bitter jealousy. It is well known that the Gardener princesses are each others fiercest rivals. Gwynesse stated once, that it was normal since no other lady in the realm was 'as grand as they'. She is known to be arrogant, vain and a bit shrewd. Like a spoiled princess, she was quick to anger and was very stubborn. Because her father has no male heirs, her elder sister would be the logical choice as a queen. Gwynesse however would rather die then serve under her own sister. It is rumoured that she poisoned the mind of her husband with promises of becoming King and Queen of the Reach themselves, leading to civil war.
In her youth, she was courted by Lord Rowan, who squired for the late Lord Manderly, his son and heir also courted her. She choose Lord Manderly because she wanted to make a marriage as grand as her sister, Lord Rowan sadly, wasn't rich enough to compare to lord Peake, her brother-in-law. Thus she married Manderly. It is rumoured that she regretted her choice ever since. It is the worst kept secret in Dunstonbury, that the marriage between Lord Manderly and his wife not love match and they are often at odds with each other.
Her personal blazon is quartered; A green hand on white and white mermaid on a field of blue-green.

    House Beesbury

House Beesbury is an ancient house from the time of the First Men, though their power has diminished over the centuries. They are now vassals of House Hightower. They boast descent of Ellyn Ever-Sweet, a mythical daughter of the equally mythical Garth Greenhand, who became the first beekeeper after making a pact with the King of Bees. Their arms are three yellow beehives on a black pale over a paly black and yellow field Their words are "Beware our Sting".

    Lord Rodrick Beesbury of Honeyholt
Roddrick is the only child of Rolph Beesbury. He is lord of Honeyholt. He is currently 2 years old. He is chubby and very adorable. His aunt lady Adianna Beesbury serves as his regent.

Lady Adianna Beesbury, Regent of Honeyholt

    Age: 27
    Married: Lord Hightower
    Children: See house Hightower
    Traits (7):
    Experience in ruling: +2 Wealth
Educated as a noble wife: +1 Charm
    Lives at Hightower: +2 Survival
    Escorted by knights: +2 capture

Adianna is the fourth child and only daughter of her late father, lord Beesbury. She had three older brothers, the first was sickly Rolph Beesbury and two others; ser Abelar and ser Damon; but they died fighting the Dornish. And finally there was young Trisfer whom caused scandal in the Reach by collaborating with the Dornish himself. Trisfer always had been different from other boys, displaying feminine behaviour and played with dolls with his sister Adianna. She used him as her model while learning to make dresses and he was even better at sewing then her. She stole his works to get the praises from their lady Mother and their governess Septa Sarra. One day, he simply ran away from home. It us rumoured that the golden haired boy is now a paramour of Prince Martell of Dorne.
Young, witty, charming, Adianna was the perfect noble wife. She dreamed of a grand marriage with a noble lord. However with a sickly elder brother and with a father who had lost his wits years before, it fell to Adianna to take up the regency of Honey Holt. Because of this, she was not able to leave home to marry some grand lord with a castle of its own. She took up the job and carried the burden of lady of the castle herself. Her court and her overlord arranged for her to be married to Hightowers youngest son, Arthor Hightower. He was no heir so he would not leave her and could act as her joint-ruler. He was nothing what she had dreamed and expected; he had no land, no title, he was not strong and was certainly not as handsome has his elder brothers and he was also a few years her junior. In short: nothing she had hoped for. So she took matters in her own hand and dominated her young husband. Often, leaving him with his scrolls. Years of experience as a ruler made her confident and strong-willed. She sees her husband as her puppet, as she did with her brother. Two years ago her sickly brother miraculously managed to provide his wife with a son. When he finally died; Adianna continued to play regent for her nephew. Unexpectedly she became Lady of Oldtown when her brothers-in-law perished. She now sees herself as ruler of Oldtown and the Honeywine river.

    H
    ouse Crane

According to legend the house was founded by a daughter of Garth Greenhand, Rose of Red Lake. It is rumoured that some female members of House Crane are able to skinchange into cranes.
Red Lake and the Cranes joined the Kingdom of the Reach through pacts of friendship and mutual defence with King Garth III Gardener, after being threatened to be absorbed by the kingdom of the Rock.

    Lady Rosamund Crane

    Age: 20
    Married: Widow
    Children: Yes, a daughter
    Traits (6):
    Ambitious: +2 Battle
Lady of the Reach: +2 Wealth
    Patience: +2 Survival

Lady Rosamund is the daughter of ser Rycherd Crane and his lady wife, Lady Genna Caswell. Her father was a third son of Lord Rodrick Crane and Lady Melera Rowan. She had four uncles in total. Her grandfather was the proud father of five sons. These sons, however, where not in a rush to marry at all. The destructive marriage between the late Lord Crane and his wife, forces their sons to think twice before marrying at all. The eldest son married out of duty lady Talla Stackhouse. This marriage too proved to be a disaster and produced only a daughter, lady Roislin. Roislin was charming, sensible and sweet. All were contend with her inheriting Red Keep. She married ser Roland Webber and within a few months of her marriage, proved to be fertile too. She however died in child birth. Which led to a rush of marriages in house Crane. The four other sons of Lord Rodrick Crane abandoned (or claimed to do so) their mistresses and married proper ladies of rank for the sake of inheriting the Lordship and producing an heir. Her father took as his wife, Lady Genna Caswell. Lady Genna was a plain woman, who married late for a noble lady. She is fat but has a charming personality, and is known for cracking bawdy jokes. Her father died quickly after Rosamunds birth. Her senior uncles provided no legitimate living children after the death of Lady Roislin. Her junior uncles produced two other legitimate daughters named lady Alerie and Lady Alla.
Rosamund is the widow of ser Victor Oldflowers. They have daughter called Elinor.

Rosamund is an ambitious young lady; she wishes to bring back the glory of her house and raise them to a High Lordship. She however has patience and has a calm and serene personality.

    House Florent of Brightwater Keep

Lord Jon Florent, the Grey Fox

Jon Florent, Lord of Brightwater Keep, High Lord of Lower Mander
Age: 63 in 4004 AH (born in 3941 AH)
    Rank: Lord's Bannerman
    Traits (12 points):
    N/A

    Bio:
The only son of the late Lord Aladore Florent, Lord Jon enjoyed the childhood of any highborn in the Reach: training in chivalry, combat, horse riding, poetry, history, the Faith and various other subjects. His sister Rhea was married off to Meryn of House Gardener, while he would inherit his house's ancient lands, passed down for generations since the age of Garth Greenhand. Jon could be seen all around the kingdom, feasting, drinking, participating in tournaments and finding ladies to charm with his boisterous attitude. This behavior continued after he was married to Lady Elizabel Norcross. It is speculated that quite a few Flowers in the Reach have been planted by the Black Fox.

This was not to be forever, however. In his fifties, Lord Jon's wearied body and mind severely deteriorated. He became a weak and frail man, with pale skin, a bony complexion, thin grey hair and foggy eyes. Lord Florent's thoughts became jumbled and it became harder to control his movement. His beloved wife is taking care of him as much as possible, yet the maester do not think the lord will ever get well. As the eldest son, Ser Erren rules in his father's stead, which the second son Kennet strongly objects. The animosity has only risen over the years, with Lord Jon's health only becoming worse.

With the war tearing the realm apart and the death of Garth Greybeard, the strength of House Florent will be necessary for the future of the Reach. But with an old lord knocking on the Stranger's door, no one knows what his lordship would do.

Ser Erren Florent, the Wild Hound

Ser Erren "Wild Hound" Florent, Heir to Brightwater Keep, Regent of Brightwater Keep
Age: 42 in 4004 AH (born in 3962 AH)
    Traits (10 points):
    Battles +2
    Pillager +1
    Survival +1
    Duel +3
    Joust +3

    Bio:
The oldest son of Lord Jon Florent mirrors his father in more ways than one. Both in appearance and character, he is the sptting image of the Grey Fox. He has lived for battle, wine and women most of his life, all the while praying to the Seven every day. He is a cocky and arrogant man, always certain of his own strength and intelligence. Despite this, he has always admired and respected Lord Jon Florent.

When his father fell ill, Erren stepped in to rule as regent until the lord got well. Years later, nothing in Lord Jon's condition has changed, and everyone expects him to pass on soon, naturally handing over land and titles to the man who is already ruling. The only problem is that Ser Erren has no children, no heir to take for him despite being in his forties. A grievance that haunts Erren the most, not the least because his presumptive heir is Kennet Florent, his younger brother. Their relationship has been anything but nice, the two bickering and arguing over everything.

The conflict in the Reach has been a concern for all, but there is not much has been done. Ser Erren supports neither Manderly nor Peake in their respective claim on the throne, for once waiting and watching how the events are unfolding.

    Kennet Florent

Kennet Florent, Steward of Brightwater Keep
Age: 38 in 4004 AH (born in 3966 AH)
    Traits (9 points):
    Survival +2
    Assassin +1
    Wealth +3
    Charisma +3

    Bio:
Kennet Florent did not have the strength nor prowess of arms like his father and brother, making him focus on sharpening his mind. Politics, faith, poetry, history and economics became his weapons, all the while Erren and the other children teased him for being a bookworm. When he went into adulthood, Lord Florent put him as an assistant to the steward, taking over the position when the old steward passed away. His quiet yet determined and calculating nature made him well suited for the role.

Lord Jon's illness changed the dynamics in Brightwater Keep immensely. With Erren as regent and Kennet as steward, the two came to blows over most things concerning the house. When the war broke out though, they actually agreed on keeping their house out of the conflict for the time being. However, Kennet saw new potential when the Dornishmen sacked Highgarden and killed Garth Greybeard. A young Mern Gardener was visiting them at the time, who is both his cousin and has a claim on the throne. Perhaps this is the time for the Florents to come up in this world?

    Caswell of Stonebridge
Defenders of the Stonebridge, House Caswell watch over an important crossing fairly inland of the Reach and next to the Roseroad. Although their keep isn't the largest and their lands aren't the richest, the importance of the Bridge has kept House Caswell relevant throughout the years. The tourneys they hold on the flats beside the Keep are well known throughout all of the Reach.

    Skills: 2 Duels, 2 Charisma, 2 Assassination, 1 Scout
The crème de la crème of Reach chivalry, Lord Lancel Caswell came into power after his father died when Lancel was just 20 years old. The not-so-old Lord had passed away suddenly of a fever, likely brought upon him by polluted food or drink. Lancel appeared to be well prepared to keep his lands under control even though he was still young. His aptitude for court intrigue and his outgoing nature quickly won over many a knight's loyalty, and many a Lady's grace at tourneys. It is said that Lancel sired several children, but nobody knows how much of those whisperings are true.

He has four sisters, two of which older than him, and two brothers.
    • Carolei Caswell, born 3973 AH (Age 31). Spouse: Dickon Tarly.
    • Lyona Caswell, born 3974 AH, died in childbirth 3995 AH(21 yrs old). Spouse: Mern Gardener. Children: Garth (3993 AH) and Elinor (3995 AH) Gardener.
    • Lancel Caswell, Lord of Stonebridge, born 3976 AH (Age 28). Spouse:
    • Kyle Caswell, Heir to Stonebridge, born 3978 AH (Age 26). Spouse:

Tyene Peake-Gardener, Rightful Queen of the Reach
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Age: 43 (Born 3961 AH), 10 Skill Points
    Skills: +3 Charisma, +2 Assassin, +3 Capture, +2 Survival
First daughter of Garth X 'Greybeard' Gardener, Tyene was married off to Lord Peake at a young age. Garth, even at the time easily controllable by his vassals and courtiers, was quick to grant the hand of his heiress to Peake, even though the results would be catastrophic for the Realm. Tyene, however, was in a way glad that she had been made to depart from Highgarden at the age of 14. At Peake's court, she felt like she was Queen of the Reach already as every courtier rushed to fulfill her every wish. She got with child at the age of 15, and gave birth to a son she named Yoren. Five more children followed in the next eight years, including twin daughters.

Tyene had not paid much heed to her sister Gwynesse in a long time, but when the ravens told her that Gwynesse had married Lord Manderly, her blood started to boil. She felt betrayed by her own blood, married to one of the only families in the Reach that could rival Peake in power and wealth. Her wrath would be terrible one day, she told herself countless times.

With the passing of Garth Greybeard, the question of succession arose. Tyene took it for granted that the realm would flock to her, as the rightful heir to the Kingdom of the Reach, but the succession would prove to be more complex and bloody than Tyene's hopes.

    HOUSE GARDENER
    Growing Strong
    Mern VI Gardener
    MERN VI GARDENER

    Born year 3969 AH (35)

Titles: King of the Reach, Defender of the Faith and Grand Master of the Order of the Green Hand.

    Status: Widowed.
Children: Garth Gardener (11), Elinor Gardener (9).

    Traits and Biography Traits (9):

    +2 Survival
    +1 Joust
    +3 Charisma
    +3 Wealth

    BIOGRAPHY:

Mern Gardener was born from the loins of Ser Meryn Gardener and his lady wife, Rhea Florent. The sole child of the marriage: mainly due his father’s early death by a bad bladder, when he was barely past the fortieth day of his name, only three years after their wedding. A charming boy he became a most beautiful man; particularly tall and slender, his features are rounded and soft, though some say that he lacks manliness and virility both on his appearance and manners. Melancholic and introvert, Mern is well-read and educated, but when agitated he has a tendency to stammer, something that limited his speech and prevented him from having a central role in his cousin’s court. Though, he was considered an elegant courtier, of most polished manners and revered by his dashing appearance. Also, he was a regular jouster and an avid falconer, serving as his cousin’s Master of the Hunt.
Still, he is a man of modest gifts, unlike some of his most famous ancestors, like his well-known grandfather, Ser Gwayne Gardener, called alternatively the “Wandering Leaf” or the “Green Knight”, a legendary jouster from the previous century.

Whispers and rumors state he prefers the company of men, spending many journeys with the sole company of squires, pages and fellow courtiers. Still, he married the late Lady Layna Coswell, who died in childbirth, and fathered not one but two children, a son named Garth and a girl named Elinor.

Late into Garth X’s reign was evident Greybeard wouldn’t sire a male heir and the succession would be left unclear, something which both Lord Peake and Manderly profited, seizing larger lots of power and influence, slowly controlling most of the court and capitalizing the access to the King himself. However, they soon came to hands and started quarreling over their respective wives’ rights to the throne; Greybeard had married several times in search of an heir, his daughters been the fruit of two different marriages. As the last scion of a withering tree, which didn’t grow strong precisely, Mern was considered by many as his second cousin’s sole heir by right of proximity of blood and agnatic inheritance that always had prevailed on the Reach. Peake and Manderly quarrels evolved into a full-fledged conflict, dividing and weakening the realm of the Gardeners, finally erupting into a fratricide war. The weakness was used by the Westerlanders, led by their ambitious Lannister king, to invade the realm, at the very same time that the Stormlanders decided to cross the eastern borders. Both had seized the opportunity to expand their frontiers at the Gardeners’ expense.

When the senile king was killed by the Dornish raiders, the Oakenseat burned and Highgarden left like a charred ruin the realm plummeted into chaos, divided by civil strife, foreign invasions and a lack of a central authority. Mern (then a guest of his relatives at Brightwater Keep) considered that was the right time to claim his inheritance and named himself Mern, the Sixth of His Name, King of the Reach, Defender of the Faith and Grand Master of the Order of the Green Hand.

    House Rowan of Goldengrove

    Highlords of Goldrengrove

House Rowan of Goldengrove is an old but lesser House of the Kingdom of the Reach. They are the Highlords of Goldengrove and have two houses that swear fealty to them: House Kidwell of Ivy Hall and House Shermer of Smithyton.
Their blazon is a golden tree on silver.

Like several other Reach houses, the Rowans can trace their descent from Garth Greenhand.
Goldengrove is the seat of House Rowan. It is located east of Red Lake in the northern portion of the Reach. Goldengrove is situated along a river which flows from the hills near Silverhill south to Highgarden.

    Lord Addam Rowan

    Born in 3971 A.H.

Addam is the son of Symon Rowan and Elaena Rowan, Symon's first cousin. He was their first-born and only male child. He had one sister who went on to become a septa. Symon and Elaena tried many times to have more children but they all were stillborn or died while at infancy.

He was raised to be a Lord and thus Addam learnt to read and write, he was taught the arts but also trained as a warrior, learning not only how to fight but also how to command.
He squired for Lord Richard Manderly and it was there in Dunstonbury that he made good friends with Arthor, the now Highlord of the Manderford. Their relationship is strained ever since Addam and Arthor both courted Lady Gwynesse Gardener but she chose to wed the latter. Addam never fully forgave him.

After this matter his father, Lord Symon, arranged a marriage with a Hightower Lady of a minor branch named Alinor.
They had a four children together: Justin (born in 3991 AH), Lysa (born in 3992 AH), Janna (born in 3995 AH) and Garret (born in 3994 AH).

During the last years of his father Addam reigned alongside him. When Lord Symon died, Addam was already experienced in the matters of the lordship and the transition was smooth. He became Lord of Goldengrove at eight-and-twenty years of age.
Addam is an ambitious man. He aims to make House Rowan an important player in the Reach. He hates the fact that his house is one of the weaker of the Realm and is decided to change this.

    Traits:
    - 2 Survival: With a strong frame and lean muscle from her daily training, the Lady of Hornhill is not of the weak sex.
    - 2 Battle: Trained by father, brother and father - accomplished warriors themselves - she knows how to line up the armies for war.
    - 3 Wealth: She has had a lifetime to learn all there is to squeezing out every last coin from her lands in order to further her house.
    Biography:
    Edgerran Tarly

    Born: 3,956
    Nicknames: Ser Granite
    Traits:
    - 2 Battle: Trained in battle, tested in war.
    - 2 Survival: He is a large man, with lean muscle.
    - 2 Joust: A warrior fights from horseback.
    - 3 Duel: A man of war by nature, made elegant by trade, Ser Granite is an imposing sight on the battlefield, as proved by the myriad of slain he reaps.
    - 2 Capture: Honour some say. Gold, he says.
Biography: A tamer version of his younger brother, Edgerran is nonetheless a very cold and distant man. In a loveless marriage with a son who does not seem to be able to reach the standards of the father, Edgerran happily partakes in any past time which takes him away from his failings as a husband, father, man.
    Dickon Tarly

    Born: 3,958
Nicknames: The Burning Knight, Ser Bone
    Traits:
    - 2 Battle: He was a lord's son, and as such was given the same teachings as his older brother
    - 2 Survival: Where others fell, he continued to stride. Deep scars remind everyone why he is to be feared.
    - 2 Joust: An avid rider in his youth, Dickon has retained much of this knowledge in adulthood
    - 2 Capture: He understands the importance of taking prisoners.
    - 3 Duel: The clash of steel is music to his ear. It is this ritualistic battle which he has trained since youth to win.
Biography: Ravaged by flame, Dickon is a fierce looking man with a soul to match. He holds no real respect for his fellow Reachmen, considering them to be too soft for the world in which they live. His only real loyalty is to his brother and ruling niece, and that is only due to the tradition which enforces that. If the gods' looked favourably on the kinslayer, then he may have had a smaller family around him. As it stands, he seeks out the drums, the war, death.

    House Costayne

    Theo Costayne

    Born: 3,964
    Nicknames: Glorytower
    Traits:
    - 3 Battle: Clear-minded with good eyesight, he is a great commander.
    - 3 Survival: Years do nothing but give him fresh energy.
    - 3 Charisma: Commoner and nobleman alike enjoy to speak to him.
    - 1 Joust: A noble's place in the battleline is with the cavalry.
Biography: With two brothers who follow his every command, Theo is in a position where he is capable of furthering his own ambitions without having to watch his back for the envy of siblings. A born leader, with an easy smile and sharp mind, Lord Costayne has ruled for nigh on twenty years, through strife and trial. After every disaster, he has emerged with fresh vitality, new ideas and a determination unquenchable by all the water in the Sunset Sea.
    Samwell Costayne

    Born: 3,968
    Nicknames: Greytower
    Traits:
    - 2 Battle: All the Costayne brothers have invested their energies in becoming the leaders the Reach need.
    - 2 Survival: He is a quiet man who does not seem to have aged.
    - 3 Duel: A predator with a blade in hand, Samwell has a burning ambition to trade blows with a Valaryian-steel wielder.
    - 2 Pillager: The smallfolk are considered to be under his protection.
Biography: A quiet and brooding man, Samwell is often regarded as the cement which binds the three brothers together. Without him, there was no real fire driving the three Costaynes. He is the one whom can be relied on to do what even the most trusted servants would refuse to carry out. Rumours have circled since his late teens about babes slain at the breast, of crofts butchered without survivors and caravans raided. These rumours place Samwell as the perpetrator, but never has he been brought to account.
    Alester Costayne

    Born: 3,974
    Nicknames: Whitetower
    Traits:
    - 2 Battle: The aggressive formations are where he comes in to his own
    - 2 Survival: Thousands have died since he was born, and yet here he is still
    - 2 Scout: Without eyes, a man may as well die. The same is true with an army
    - 2 Joust: A nobleman's place in the battleline is with the cavalry.
Biography: The youngest of the Costayne brothers, Alester has had a very strong relationship with his elder brothers. A trusted adviser and confidant, Alester is known for being an exemplar soldier. Fostered with Theo at Uplands, the two brothers believed that they left a lasting impression on their neighbours. Lacking the ambition of his lordly brother, Alester was more than happy to further Theo's desire for promoting Costayne's power by marrying in to House Mullendore.

    House Osgrey of Coldmoat
    Marshals of the Northmarch

Lord Marshal Harren Osgrey, Lord of Coldmoat and Marshal of the Northmarch

Lord Marshal Harren Osgrey, Lord of Coldmoat and Marshal of the Northmarch

Harren is a military man to the core: House Osgrey, Marshals of the Northmarch, are by necessity military men. Every year their lands deal with bandits, opportunistic minor noblemen or idle sellsword companies operating from inside the Kingdom of the Rock, thinking that by raiding across the border then returning north they can plunder the King of the Reach's lands while avoiding his wrath by sheltering in the King of the Rock's domains.

Harren instituted several important laws upon his succession, which happened at a young age after his own father was slain battling a notorious brigand after his own small force was surrounded and destroyed while awaiting the forces of the other Marcher vassals. As such, Harren now levies taxation upon the Marcher Lords and maintains an elite force of Knights, commanded by his eldest son, and as compensation has much reduced the number of troops the Osgrey vassals are expected to produce when called to war. This centralisation of power has made the banners of House Osgrey more powerful while reducing many Marcher vassals' duties to little more than maintaining a local garrison.

    Age: 53 (b.3,951AH)
Rank: Lord of Coldmoat, Marshal of the Northmarch
    Total Trait Points: 12

Military Mind (Field Battles +4 [+1 Retainer]): Harren has a keen understanding of the military sciences and is a capable commander of troops in any engagement.
Administrator (Wealth +2 [10%]): Harren is fastidious in tax collection, knowing every penny earned must be ploughed back into the military infrastructure of his domain.
Cautious (Survival +3): Harren is well accustomed to defending himself and maintains a strong shield arm.
Organiser (Logistician +3 [15%], ): Harren knows how to move large armies quickly and effectively across all terrain types.
Marcher Lord (+1 Scout): Harren understands the great importance of keeping a watch on the lands to the north, where the treacherous Westermen lurk.

    Ser Harrag Osgrey

    Ser Harrag Osgrey

    Harrag Osgrey

Harrag Osgrey is quite the opposite of his father: much more interested in fighting in a battle than controlling it from afar. Like many young noblemen, he took great pride in being a skilled swordsman and spent a lot of time practicing his skill-at-arms. Often martial in action, he believes in tackling problems head on and carrying the day through superior bravery and mettle than in devising complex strategies over a map table. Mentally he is cruel and cunning, willing to kill to dispose of inconveniences and capable of calculated cruelty to realise his objectives. A man of two distinct sides, direct and brutal in battle yet cold and calculating in politics, he has great potential for advancement.

    Age: 36 (b.3,968AL)
Rank: Heir to Coldmoat, Captain of the Marcher Company
    Marital Status: Married.
    Total Trait Points: 9

Swordsman (+9 Duels [+1 Retinue, +5 Edicts]): Harrag spends a lot of time sparring with friends and trainers, and has acquired some skill with a sword as a result.
Agile (+4 Survival [+1 Retinue]): Spending a lot of time sparring makes one as good at dodging sword blows as in dealing them. Harrag is quick on his feet and is able to dodge attacks aimed at him.
Military Mind (+3 Field battles): Harrag has an understanding of battle tactics and leadership.

    Family of Raymar:
Wife: Lady Alyce (Age 35, 1 year Harrag's junior)
Son: Donnel Osgrey (Age 19, born to Harrag at 17)
Son: Ryon Osgrey (Age 16, born to Harrag at age 20)
Daughter: Kyra Osgrey (Age 15, born to Harrag at 21)

    Major Auxes

    Ser Myles Bettley

A longtime friend of Harrag's, Myles is a cruel man and the third son of one of the minor knightly houses sworn directly to Coldmoat. A seasoned Knight with no inheritance of his own, being the third son, he serves as a Knight Officer in the Marcher Company, Coldmoat's elite strike force, regularly seeing battle against all sorts of vagrants and opportunists along the poorly defined and expansive Reach-Rock border.

    Ser Godric Osgrey

    Ser Godric Osgrey

    Godric Osgrey

Godric Osgrey is the second son of Harren Osgrey, a year younger than Harrag. Like Harrag he is more fond of fighting in battles than directing them, and as the second son he is left more to his own devices: Harrag is expected to rise to the rank of Lord of Coldmoat and is treated as such, Godric is not. He enjoys travel, and can often appear in unlikely places in the world as a result.

    Age: 35 (b.89AL)
    Rank: Son of Harren Osgrey
    Trait Points: 9

Swordsman (+3 Duels): Godric spends a lot of time sparring with friends and trainers, and has acquired some skill with a sword as a result.
Agile (+3 Survival): Spending a lot of time sparring makes one as good at dodging sword blows as in dealing them. Godric is quick on his feet and is able to dodge attacks aimed at him.
Well traveled (+2 Pillager): Godric has visited many parts of Westeros, and remembers the many towns and roads well.
Commander (+1 Battles): Godric knows the basics of commanding an army in the field.

The Amber Group will attempt to restructure it's business after losing our Tradefleet in the Defence against Dorne.
We have moved out headquarters from Shield Islands, back to our humble beginnings in Oldtown. I and my associates hope we will be welcomed home with open arms.
The reason we have chosen to go home was because the majority of our fleet operated our of Oldtown. And we'd like to move there now to safeguard our interests and friends in the city.
Our business have taken a staggering hit with the loss of the fleet, it will take time to rebuild. We are confident we can restart with the same values and mix between doing well by doing good.

    Silas Amber and Co.
Silas Amber is the character I'd like to Register.
    Age: 37
    Traits:
    Wealth: 3.
    Duels: 3.
    Battles: 2.
    Sea Battles: 1.
He is a businessman, but also a patriot. He combined his fleet of 13 ships, that he had build up throughout his life till now. With the fleet of Oldtown. Albeit the battle ended in victory. Silas had to be fished up by his comrades in arms.. His name is not widely known and The Amber Group that had just begun to make a blip on the radar of people is back to scratch. Silas aquired a limp in the battle aswell as a few scars but otherwise survived it, which for him is a gift from the seven in it's own right.

    - Survival: +2; +2 to surviving death rolls and in Duel defensive rolls.

    Biography
Ser Osmund descends from a several generations of knights dating back to the arrivals of the first Andals in the Reach. His ancestor, one Alester, became the champion and sword shield of King Gwayne V, and his eldest son became another renowned knight is his own right. But that son died in a tourney, leaving Alester's younger son, Gareth, who became a royal steward rather than a knight. Gareth and his successor, Leo, performed their duties as royal stewards so well that the Gardener kings made the office hereditary, naming the patriarch of the Tyrells as "High Steward".

Since then, the office has gained much power and authority in the court of the Kings of the Reach, eclipsing the importance of chancellors and advisors. By the time of Osmund's great-grandfather, Edmund Tyrell, the office of High Steward had subsumed the duties of regent, and Edmund served as regent for several long years during the minority of Garland VI. Edmund's son, Osbert, Osmund's grandfather, became High Steward for the tumultuous reign of Gyles III, governing Highgarden while the warlike king was away waging campaigns against the Stormlands, the Westerlands, the Dornish, and the Riverlanders. When Gyles died of the bloody flux, Osbert was regent for Garth X, later known as Greybeard, until the young king came of age. After Osbert, Edmund's father Eddison took over as High Steward for much of the reign of the Greybeard, until a decade ago when Osmund succeeded him. Two decades ago, Eddison was granted a knighthood, awarded lands out of the royal demesne; the Greybeard parceled out the coastal valley at the mouth of the Mander, along with all its rural but fertile farmland, to Eddison as a gift to the loyal and able service the Tyrells had given to the Gardeners for many generations and counting. This fiefdom territory became known as "the Manderford" by the time that Osmund inherited it, due to its most prominent feature being the last usable ford across the Mander before it flowed out to the sea. There, at the so-called Manderford, Eddison spent the humble purse of the family to construct a small tower-keep, which could guard and command the ford and the surrounding coastal valley, though the High Stewards would rarely reside there in years to come.

Since a decade ago, Osmund has served as the High Steward of Highgarden with all its powers and duties, for the aged Garth X, known as the Greybeard. Through several years of senile rule, Osmund guided the old king and served patiently, vetting Garth's edicts and ideas to protect his kingdom.

In the last few years, the Manderly's and Peakes began to quarrel over the inevitable succession, both their lords married to Garth's two daughters. The fighting spread and burned across the Reach heartlands, prompting the Westerlands and Stormlands to steal territory in the north and east. Then, the Greybeard's life was ended this past year as a Dornish king took an army all the way to the walls of Highgarden, unchallenged by the Manderly's or the Peakes despite Osmund's warnings and calls to peace, and sacked the capital of the Gardeners, destroying the Oakenseat and looting the royal regalia.

Osmund survived the sack, barricading himself and some remaining retainers and knights into the depths of the inner sanctum of the castle, while his three children were safely outside of Highgarden, waiting at the Manderford at the new family home. Highgarden remains a ruined place, with ruined walls and a breached keep. The smallfolk have all but abandoned it and the surrounding fields.

    House Merryweather of Longtable
House Merryweather of Longtable is a noble house from the Reach. Longtable is located at the confluence of the Mander and the Blueburn.

Their blazon is a a golden horn of plenty spilling out apples, carrots, plums, onions, leeks, turnips, and fruits of many colors, over a white field bordered in gold. Their motto is "Behold our Bounty.
Being a rich and powerful family, the Merryweathers benefitted so far from the Gardener's rulership over the Reach as High Lords within the north-eastern parts of the Reach. Like many they had to recently suffer from a lot of attrocities, caused by raids of the bordered Stormlander lords and recently by the Dornishmen, comeing over the passes - thus the House has reasons to share less sympathy with outsiders of the realm, as they do not know honor and chivalry like a true Reachman does.

The recent conflict made the Merryweathers, however, kinda isolated as they had to repair the damages, which the Dornishmen left. The previous lord was slain in battle along with his firstborn sons, causeing in a side branch to overtake the leadership over the House, as the main line was extinct. Dispositioned to the recent events, the current Merryweather family is rather eyeing the outbreaking civil war rather from the distance, as most likely the pretenders for the crown would come to Longtable anyways, in hope to win their forces for their cause.

    Lord Meryn Merryweather

Age: 23, born in 3,981 AH
Biography: After returning from the Citadel, when he heard the news of himself inheriting Longtable after the death of the old Lord Merryweather, Meryn has made himself already a name for his calm and merciful reign over his people. More open-minded than other lords might be, he wasted no time to create administral positions within his House to actually handle the duties of a High Lord more efficiently, eyed with different views among his family and people. Some say that his trust into his court will cost him some day his life, while others see the advantages behind his doings and also point out, that Meryn had always been a special child, being sometimes more cunning than his cousins, when it comes to politics.
As well it should be notable that Meryn spends his free time to write down his novels and ideas, not rarely sending even some of his ideas to familiars, along them even women. Furthermore he is a romantic nobleman, liveing up to the lifestyle of a chivalric Reachman in form of a poet and musician, since he barely lacks any skill in an open duel. However, he does not worry about his lack in fighting skills, as he has for this job his brother or other henchmen.

    Traits:
Charisma +3 Meryn is a charismatic man, who was educated half his life in Oldtown, while listening to the words of Maesters and scribes, he paid for their services while leading disputes as well, strengthening his rhetorical skills as well. Counting in his youth as well, he is considered attractive by many, who meet him, when makeing an appearence.
Wealth +2 Being known for wealth, the Merryweathers had always a feeling of how to estimate their wealth - Meryn had proven several times in the past that he even obtained more knowledge over administration and how to spread wealth than a larger part of his family.
Survival +1By surviveing the assault of Oldtown, along with several criminals within the alleys, who considered him in the past as easy prey, Meryn is pretty experienced in surviveing unpleasant encounters, though it was most of the time luck that he did not got killed off.

    His brother Ser Gyles Merryweather

Age: 21, born in 3,983 AH
    Biography: WiP
    Traits:
Survival +2 Gyles has fought the Dornishmen already before he was knighted by his uncle Ser Rodrik, slaying so far fourteen men in a battle on his own. From the wounds he recieved, he learnt to improve his weak spots.
Duel +2 Being a squire for years before the Dornishmen passed Longtable, Gyles was trained in the traditional fighting skills of a nobleman at their family seat, spareing with his cousins. Due to his strength, he turned out to be a natural swordsman.
Battle +2Knowing now that it is his responsibility to guard his brother and in worst case sacrifice his life for him, Gyles learnt a lot from the recent war movements of the Dornishmen and stategy in general. His knowledge of wide parts of the Reach and his experience in open battle help him as well, when reading through the maps.

    His sister Meredith Merryweather

Age: 16, born in 3,988 AH
    Biography: WiP
    Traits:
Survival +2 Though she looks like a tame flower, Meredith seems more durable than it might first seem
Charisma +2 Basically boobs. Let's face it, we live in a medieval society and Meredith is like many Reachmen women blessed by beauty. Nontheless she's actually quite smart and is interested as well into the work of her brother.
Assassin +1 Uhm... yeah, we better don't talk about the secrets of her past.

The rest of the Merryweather family and their Household
-his sister Tanda Merryweather, born in 3,985 AH (19)
-his mother Anya Leygood, born in 3,960 AH (44)
-his uncle Andros Merryweather from the third branch of the family, born in 3,965 (39)
--Andros' eldest son Rufus Merryweather, born in 3,992 AH (12)
--Andros' daughter Margaery Merryweather, born in 3,997 AH (7)

-Rossart Flowers, born in 4,003 AH (1)

    His retiniue:
    - Maester Maric, an experienced man from the Citadel and childhood friend of Meryn, born in 3,979 AH (25)
    - Mortimer of Gulltown, his partner in trade and a friend from long years, Merchant Guildmaster of Longtable, born in 3,973 AH (31)
    - Ser Rufus Silverquill, a hedgeknight, more of a poet and coward than a real help born in 3,983 AH (21)

    Others:
    - Captain Halys Stonepike of the Household Guard, born in 3,970 AH (34)

    Lord Dean Hewett

Dean Hewett, Lord of Oakenshield, High Lord of the Shield Islands, Mayor of Lord Hewett's Town, The Shield of the Reach
    Born: Year 3963 AH, (41)

    Traits: +3 Wealth
    +3 Charisma
    +2 Survival
    +2 Capture

    Bio:
Dean Hewett, the Lord of Oakenshield, is neither a warrior nor a sailor as his forebears of old were. Indeed this is a man who prefers to travel by carriage or in his books than in the open sea and to spar with words rather than swords. This, however many Westerosi may see it, does not make him a bad Lord, or a cowardly man. If you were to think logically it is easy to reach the conclusion that no weak man could survive long in the position of High Lord of the Shield Islands, one of the most important defensive position in the Reach. Dean Hewett has ruled these islands for seventeen years and they have yet to fail in their defense of the realm, even in these troubled times, and it would be wise for you not to question his competence.

Thrust into the position of Lord when his father Lord Harwyck, the gods bless his memory, perished in a shipwreck during a freak storm when sailing back from the Mouth of the Honeywine. Many doubted this young man, who was not a reknowed martial man to be installed in such a crucial position but those naysayers have all vanished over the years. Lord Dean has ruled the Shields with a firm and just hand, he has overseen an increase in trade and fishing and also reinforced our standing defenses. Although he leaves the fighting to more able commanders there is no man in the Shields to match his administrating skills.

Dean married at a young age, when he was only 19 he attended a feast at Runestone to celebrate Lord Royce's marriage and there he met his first, and only, love, Lady Sarah Royce. In the two weeks he spent there the pair he started courting the lady and the two quickly formed a relationship, Dean asked his father to allow him to marry the Royce lady and even if Lord Harwyck would prefer a marriage to a girl closer to home he allowed it out of love for his son and after Sarah convinced her father the two married in a ceremony at Runestone. Alongside her, Lord Dean lived the happiest years of his life and she was the mother of all his three kids it was said in the Shield Islands there could be no man more happy than Dean Hewett, and they were right. It was due to this great love that he took it hard when she fell ill, around a decade ago, and even worse when she died, in the grim year of 3996 AH. Since then Dean has not been the same man, althought he cares still for his kids and his realm with great responsability and love the Lord seems a lot grimmer and much less joyfull. Even thought he has vowed never to remarry he still enjoys the company of many different women, however, he loves none of them and likely never will love any Lady again.

    Ser Tyler Hewett

Ser Tyler Hewett, Heir of Oakenshield and Shield Islands
    Born: Year 3983 AH, (21)

    Traits: +2 Joust
    +2 Duel
    +2 Survival

    Bio:
Tyler Hewett was born to Dean Hewett and Sarah Royce, their firstborn and first son, given that, he was already destined to inherit his grandfather's title's one day. In the time of his childhood peace reingned in the Reach and his home was happy and loving, during his early years he was tended by his mother and father very closely and was rarely left to nurses and babysitters. In his childhood he enjoyed playing with the other boys at being Knights and Villains so he grew to be interested in the matters of the sword, unlike his father. At the age of 8, Dean, now a Lord on his own right, gave his son a choice, to become a Knight and train with the sword or to be like his father and bury himself into books and accounting tables. Tyler chose the sword.

Immediately starting his training he apprenticed under Oakenshield Master at Arms, Ser Runnel Patricks, a veteran warrior and companion of his grandfather Harwyck. Through the harsh instruction of Patricks the boy became skilled with sword and lance, being capable of sparring with youths five years older than him based purely on skill and size, he was quite large for his age. When he turned 12, Tyler squired for his uncle, Harwick Flowers and followed him in many voyages and adventures, althought he never did like the sea very much. He was Knighted at the age of 17 after winning a meele at a tournament in Lord Chester's Castle and his uncle offered to make him captain of a ship in the Shield's fleet and tutor him to eventually replace him as admiral. Tyler however, declined the offer and decided to spend a few years travelling the Reach, from tourney to tourney and feast to feast, although he had his fun in those years of travelling he returned to Oakenshield recently upon the death of Garth X and the turmoil that followed.

Tyler is a good natured and friendly young man, and has been so since his childhood, most likely a result of growing up in such a loving environment. Although a great warrior he is not prone to rage and takes no pleasure in hurting others, indeed he fashions himself a hero straight out of the stories who strikes only at the wicked and those who deserve, a reality soon to change sadly. Even thought much is said of his prowess in arms he has never killed another man, at least not yet, and has never raised his blade toward any woman or child. One of the only worries he gave his father growing up was his lack of interest in women, Lord Dean feared for his line should Tyler never marry or have kids, when his little brother Joseph was born however, Dean eased on these worries and allowed Tyler to lead his life as he wanted and love whom he pleased. Given that, it is unlikely he will ever marry or have kids and when he passes on it will be up to his brother Joseph to continue the Hewett line.

    Ser Harwick Flowers

Ser Harwick Flowers, High Admiral of the Shield Islands
    Born: 3966 AH (39)

    Traits:+3 Naval Battles+2 Survival
    +2 Duel
    +1 Charisma
    +1 Pillager

Bio: On his younger days Lord Harwyck Hewett was quite known among the smallfolk of the Shield Islands, both for being a lazy but happy Lord aswell as a famous lover. The late Lord Hewett spent many a night abed with fishermen wives and washerwomen in and around Lord Hewett's Town, the charming Lord had the habit to leave the ladies a small token of affection such as a pouch of coins or some jewelry. However there was one night where the one being surprised was he, and the surprise came nine months later in the form of a crying babe the spitting image of his father. Lord Harwyck, a man with a huge heart made room in his household for the babe, gave his mother a pension and a nice house in the town and raised the child as his own. During his childhood he enjoyed adventure and taking long hikes and travels around Oakenshield, so different from his half brother Dean, he was a page under Lord Grimm and squired for the Lord's brother Ser Gunthor Grimm, whose daughter he eventually married. He was Knighted on the deck of Ser Gunthor's ship for valour in a battle against Ironborn pirates near Greenshield.

During his youth, Harwick, named so by his mother to further identify his heritage, sired a bastard of his own. A boy named Thoryn, born in Oakenshield. Harwick's father, Lord Harwyck, cared for his little twice bastard grandson too and he was raised alongside his own legitimate granchildren. With this load of his mind Harwick continued to serve aboard ships and eventually captain some of them, most notably the flagship of the Hewett fleet, the "Oakenhull", when he was named High Admiral, around the age of 33 after Ser Gunthor passed away. His life as High Admiral has consisted mostly of chasing down pirates and merchants who refuse to pay their taxes, although with the turmoil beginning in the Reach this may soon change for the worse.

Harwick is a quiet man, preferring the seclusion of his home in Lord Hewett's Town or the deck of his ship. This is a man with no vices at all who loves his family and his few friends, although he has some trouble showing it. Harwick married his childhood sweetheart Alayne Grimm, daughter of his second father Ser Gunthor Grimm, and has two children with her, twins named Holly and Sean whom his brother Lord Dean has granted the surname of Grimmflower to honour Harwick and his wife. His relationship with his other son, Thoryn, was never too strong since Harwick was usually away on duty and had little time for the boy. Even though he loves his son their realtionship has been stranded recently, ever since the birth of Harwick's twin children and their subsequent naming as legitimate which made Thoryn both angry and jealous and led to a falling out with his father. On the other hand, Harwick harbors no ill feelings for his legitimate brother Dean and has accepted gladly his place in the world, having no shame to bear the surname Flowers. After all, being a bastard of a Lord has brought him nothing but good fortune.

    Ser Thoryn Flowers

Ser Thoryn Flowers, Knight in the service of Oakenshield
    Born: 3984 AH (20)

    Traits:+3 Duel+2 Survival
    +1 Battles

Bio: Thoryn Flowers is a second generation bastard, a son of a bastard son of a Lord and also the child of a common woman named Bertha who met Ser Harwick Flowers during a walk in the woods. Nine months later and a baby was born while, unfortunately, the father was away on duty for the fleet. So Thoryn spent the two first years of his life in a small village near his granfather's castle until, by curiosity, Ser Harwick stopped by the village again and upon discovering he had a son decided to care for the boy as best as he could. That meant, of course, taking him to his father Lord Harwyck who generously offered to raise the boy alongside his own grandson Tyler and care for him as long as the boy wanted to stay in Oakenshield Castle.

So it was that Thoryn grew up with a Lordly upbringing, his aunt Sarah cared for him alongside her own son and he trained under Ser Runnel Patricks with the highborn boys of Oakenshield. Him and Tyler, his cousin, developed a healthy friendship and rivalry. Similar to the one between siblings. However his status as a bastard always weighted in the mind of young Thoryn despite every effort by his father Harwyck to help him come to terms with it. Unfortunately the boy did not have the same disposition as his father and grew up to both love and resent his legitimate kin. When his father married and had kids with a noble lady, kids who were granted a noble of their own Thoryn reached his breaking point. Resentment and envy grew to anger and eventually gave way to hate, even if tempered by a bit of love remaining from his upbringing alongside them. Thoryn squired for and was knighted by Ser Garrett Chester, the castellan of Oakenshield, and afterwards served in his uncle's Household guard and army.

Thoryn is a handsome man albeit brooding and angry, and to add to his injury a perfect image of what the Hewetts usually look like. Even so, he has vowed to never sire any bastards and will not lay with any woman until his marriage, whenever that is. He resents profundly his surname of Flowers and all the social status that come with it and prefers to be called "Thoryn of Oakenshield", the name he uses in tournaments a competition he is quite accomplished at. Flowers has recently been rising in the ranks of his uncle's forces and has ambitions to be a fighter and general in the upcoming conflicts in the Reach.

"We all know whatmy brother would do. Robert would gallop up to the gates of Winterfell alone, break them with his warhammer, and ride through the rubble to slay Roose Bolton with his left hand and the Bastard with his right. I am not Robert. But we will march, and we will free Winterfell … or die in the attempt."

    SER WYMAN WEBBER

Titles: None, sworn sword to Mern Gardener.
    Status: Unmarried.
    Children: None.

    Traits (8):
    +3 Duels
    +3 Survival
    +2 Joust

    BIOGRAPHY:

The eldest son of Ser Raymun Webber and Larra Inchfield, born in 3971 AH. He belongs to a cadet branch of House Webber, sworn vassals to House Osgrey, their overlords of known fame and power. Impoverished and almost landless Wyman had soon to leave home and he subsequently arrived to where most knights could find employ, bed and food in the Reach: Highgarden. Serving as just one of an over a thousand swords at the king's seat his service was mostly undistinguished to everyone except for a young squire, a second cousin to the King and nothing close to ever inheriting the realm at that time, Mern Gardener. Both grew closer and closer, until a bond deeper than mere friendship was born between them. Both were distant relatives of more affluent men, both had little in the world besides themselves. Since, they have been inseparable, often sharing bed, table, sparring, hunt and journeys.

Capable with the sword at young age he hardened himself through years of training and war, becoming an excellent knight and swordsman. Tall as he was, even taller than the already imposing Mern, he towered over most men when encased in his black polished armor (present of Mern Gardener himself) and wearing a surcoat emblazoned with the red spider of his house.

He has always refused to take a wife for spouse but understood Mern's reasons behind his marriage as it was more and more evident that Greybeard would sire no son from his multiple marriages; the king's seed had grown weak as infirmity extended to both his limbs and mind. The darkest rumors place him right at Mern's bedchamber and mention he had played quite an important role on the conception of Mern's children with his late wife, Lady Lyona Caswell.
He has firmly supported his lover's decision to claim the throne ever since news of Greybeard’s demise reached Brightwater Keep, where their union was well-known.

    Robert Tyrell
    Robert Tyrell

Age: Born in 3989 AH, aged 15 in 4004 AH
Titles: Squire of the Palace, Royal Clerk, Heir to the Manderford

Parents: Osmund Tyrell (52), Catelyn Tyrell née Manderly (31)
    Spouse: -Unmarried-

Siblings: Ermesande Tyrell (17), Eldon Tyrell (12)

    Traits (5)

    - Battle: +1; +1 to battle rolls.
    - Joust: +1; +1 to Joust rolls, mounted Duel offensive rolls, and cavalry charges if this character leads it.
    - Duel: +2; +2 to unmounted Duel offensive rolls.
    - Charisma: +1; +1 to any rolls to convince an AI character to do something.

    Biography
Robert is the first son and the second child of the High Steward of Highgarden, Osmund Tyrell, and Catelyn Manderly.
From birth, he was raised to be Osmund's successor as High Steward for the royal court, just as Osmund had been by Eddison, and his father before him..
This entailed rigorous mathematics from a young age, rather than the typical noble's education of heraldry and "who's who".
For the Tyrells, it is not until near the age of ten that the young Stewards-to-be are shown to the Royal court. In tradition, they are tested by a maester of the citadel in wit and arithmetic, but this is only a formality. The young Tyrell is then declared to be a Squire of the Palace and the Royal Clerk.

Once, Squire of the Palace meant the King's squire or in some cases, the King's champion's squire. Likewise, the Royal Clerk once referred to an office now eclipsed in duty by the High Steward. Both now have been used as legitimizing the heir to the High Stewardship, nothing more, for at least a century.

Traditionally, once presented to the royal court, the Tyrell heir would join the court and his father the High Steward, and would follow the latter around everywhere, learning from him directly and aiding him in all things. But there is no royal court these days, no palace to be a squire of. It lays in ruins, the Oakenseat burned and chopped up.
