    Default Light Version of DeI?

Is there or would be reasonably feasible to make a light version of Divide et Impera? Both in terms of script load and overall changes to the game, not only to allow a gradual change from vanilla to this mod, given how big some of the changes are, but also to give a version more easily played by those with less powerful computers.

Personally I've tried the mod but not only I got a bit too lost, the turns were taking a bit too long even at the very early game, not to mention the occasional freeze-crash. As such, I would really like a version that give me some of the mod without being too heavy on my computer, at least until I stop being so lost.

    Hey,

which freeze-crash we are talking about? In the loading screen after battles? Between turns?

After battles: Long loading times. This is not a freeze, simply wait. Without a SSD it can easily take 1-3min.

Between turns: There are reforms which require loading times at certain turns or events. Also resulting in a state which is similiar to a freeze but is not.

    Till shade is gone,
    till water is gone,
into the Shadow with the teeth bared,
screaming defiance with the last breath,
to spit into Sightblinder's eye on the Last Day

A cut down version of DEI goes against the whole philosophy of this mod. We strive for depth, realism and challenge. There is a sub-mod for less powerful machines that reduces the unit variety a bit (but biggest effect is your own graphics settings). Unfortunately to really get out the most of Rome 2 and this mod you need a fairly decent machine. I find a SSD drive makes a huge difference in loading times too. There a threads where you can ask advice on best graphics settings here also if that helps.
