No big deal you say?
Hmm, of course not, I could probarbly changed some text-files but what if that was what I didn't do? And i actually renamed settlements inside the game? That would be something wouldn't it?
Ok, so you know how to do it? I am the only one not knowing this? Well, then you can stop reading now, if you still is interested and dont know exactly what I mean, then continue reading.
I was looking at the heavengames -forum today, where I came over a easter egg -thread, where someone had mentioned the possibillity to add this in the preference.txt file: EDIT_SETTLEMENT_NAMES:TRUE I found this very interesting and were 100% sure the same would work in M2TW.
So i pasted the line in to the medieval 2 preference -file under the [misc] text. Then I changed ":" to " = ". It should look like this:
[misc]
EDIT_SETTLEMENT_NAMES = TRUE
So I started the game and everything went okay, I loaded an old campaign and decided to rename York. I open the settlementscroll and then right-clicking on the name "York" at the top of the settlement scroll. And renamed it to "Test", then I clicked the "End turn" -button and everything was going okay! So it worked. I havent tested it more, because I wanted to tell you first. I hope that this not is something a lot of people know, if so I have wroten all this stuff in my bad english for no use![]()
But it is one weird thing about this, after i quitted the game the text:
[misc]
EDIT_SETTLEMENT_NAMES = TRUE
in the preference -file have disappeared, wonder why :hmmm:
Maybe I have to make it to "read only"?
