Default Too many suitors, not enough wives?

    Hey guys,

Does anyone else get potential men to marry one's daughters all the time, but very very few wife requests by comparison? I've been having a hard time keeping a bloodline going, because my sons come of age and just age right up to 40 and 50 and never once does the game ask me if I want them to get married.

    Some potentially relevant data:

    KB, 2.06f, 10 regions controlled

Family tree is just original people, except I accepted one husband for the starting faction heir's one daughter, and they had two sons who are underage. Plus original heir died of old age since he starts as an older uncle.

So obviously in this specific playthrough, no one has gotten to 50 yet without a wife offer. But I'm getting suitor offers every few turns and no wife offers this whole playthrough (turn 87, 4 unmarried men of proper age).

Is there some setting you guys can tweak that controls when the game decides to offer a male suitor vs a wife permission request? If it's pure EXE, I wonder what conditions make it decide which. It's nowhere near a 50% roll, that's for sure.

Has anyone else also noticed that, the few times it does offer wives, it gets stuck on one man? Like you decline the wife because the man it wants to let get married is dumb as rocks, but all future wives are just different names for that one guy, even though he's not the heir or potential heir or anything. The game doesn't seem to want to let you take wives for other characters. I'm thinking maybe I have to suicide that character to get it unstuck and offer wives to others.

I did not encounter any issues regarding family breeding. (KB, 2.06a)
All my family members got married really early, both male and female.

Most of them have gotten kids early enough. Two of them, however, are 40 now and still no kids. I assume the problem is their "bad health" trait line.

At my hayasdan campaign which was probably 2.06b or c every turn I got a wife offer for the dumb kid of the family who was an extra FM already and refused. This didn't stop until I quit playing around turn 150 (for reasons unrelated)

Weird, in my KB game for 2.06c, every FM got a marriage proposal as soon as they Came of Age.

Hmm, alright. I've had some campaigns where I got offers (but if I decline an offer, I tend to get offered the SAME FM, rather than a random new one), but not in this one. I've killed off my Dulls, so I have a very trim list yet. Been a few turns without any offers. My proper heir is 36 now, so we'll see if he can make it to the cutoff of 50 by getting a wife and having sons.

I have several daughters available, though. I'm not sure if it's related to the fact that I have more daughters than sons that I'm getting "Hey, want a husband?" offers. Again, even there I was getting them all for the same daughter. It's possible that if I accept that offer, the game will move on to offering for the next one.

When you guys have no problems, are you accepting each offer? Can you decline one and then get offered a marriage proposal for a different family member, male or female? Not a different suitor for the same daughter, but a different daughter as the target and/or a son as the target of a wife instead?

I'm sure there's some sort of thing where the game won't move on to a different candidate until you've accepted someone - or it takes a long time before it gives up and tries someone else.

With the sons, I just accept whatever comes along - you can't tell anything about the women offered and the more time they have to make children, the better.

I skip the dullards or the people who aren't someone I want to be the heir, because don't you usually end up with a bunch of childless couples if your tree is too big? But apparently this strategy doesn't work since they won't give up and offer to another FM, so I have to try to kill them off. Or play as the Romans where Consuls come from several families so I'm less interested in maintaining some kind of bloodline until the Imperial stage.
