Default Small doubts about the installation

    Hey guys,

Forgive me if my question is too obvious or whether it is answered anywhere else. Trust me I've been reading the FAQ and other related posts but still couldn't find exactly my case, which is why I make this post asking for help.

The thing is I'm a non-steam player, never worked fine in my PC plus it gets on my nerves with the ads and that stuff. So, I got the emperor edition installed, and I use the Mod Manager to launch the mods I use (I place them in the Data folder).

For DeI, I saw there are 2 parts to be downloaded for a non-steam download. But only the second part will work, so I have to deactivate the first one. Don't know if I'm doing it right, or whether I need to download a different link or what. It's not quite clear in the official post, so if any of you know how to do it, just show me a link or a thread where it is explained please. I see 6 parts in the steam version, so 2 parts for the standalone seems just to little for me, thats why I wonder.

Also, I was interested in the Ceasers Legions submod, the units look damn cool. But I heard rumors that this sbmod was already included in the DeI series, wanted to know if that's true , or if there's any other way to install it along with the Dei.

Sorry if my questions are obvious again, but I'm kinda lost and really hooked on my campaign so I want to clarify this asap
Thanks and merry Christmas to everyone

The standalone version is ONLY 2 parts. The reason for the steam version being 6 parts is due to file size limitations of steam. The mod is simply too big for steam and needs to be split up in 6 parts.
The standalone version is always recommended.
You need both parts of the version activated. Part 2 mainly contain unit textures and the mod wont properly work without the first part.
The reason that the game wont work when you activate the first part, is most likely due to a faulty install of the mod or some mod conflict.
If you are using any submods at all, delete these files from your data folder and unsubscribe from steam.
You also need to be sure that your Rome 2 version is updated to the latest patch, which is 17.

The caesars legion submod is not included in the mod but Im unsure whether it has been properly updated for the latest version of DeI.

All questions are as always more than welcome and we are happy to help in any way we can.

I think the main reason is that his version is pirated and mod manager is not working with patch 17, so both steam mod manager and patch 17 are required to play DeI.
