Not much we can do about it, it seems. Crashes seem to happen at random and only for a few players. Your mod setup could perhaps be the cause of it. The more mods you add the bigger the chance of crashes.

It seems the crashes may have to do with PC setup (so many different specs/hardware) and/or what submods are used.
I will keep looking into it, of course, in hopes that we can eventually isolate the issue. I think that while 1.1 has a few more of these than before, I still had the occasional non-repeatable crash in 1.0 as well. It could be we have pushed the boundaries a bit on the overall changes.
I am holding off on updating the main mod for now as there are a few more tweaks and fixes coming from KAM and Litharion later this week.
Just a heads up. Before 1.1c I never had crashes. With 1.1c, the game would inevitably crash but only during the very late game. Now with 1.1d, I can't get past turn 10 with any faction before the game crashes. I now that's not very helpful, but I'd figure I'd at least mention that it seems to be moving in the wrong direction. I can upload my save if that would help.

Submods can just by being present in the data folder screw with your setup. Unless some of the other team members manage to do it, I will test your game later this day.
Several crashes during a single evening. Much higher frequency than previous versions of DeI, all played on the same high-end rig. No submods, clean folder.
And naturally none of them are repeatable, which is good for me but horrible for tracking down the source.
And of course I could play two dozen turns over two brief sittings this evening without any issues what so ever (same campaign that crashed repeatedly yesterday). Fresh boot before each session as well, leaving me flabbergasted, slightly offended yet glad it's working. Do so love coding.
It is indeed very annoying to track down for that reason. As others have said, some have them repeatedly in one session and then don't the next day. At the same time, other players have them very rarely. It is quite maddening![]()
Not sure if this is a bug, but I cannot recruit Pike units as Pontos upon constructing a Holisederos Barracks. Indeed: I don't seem to be able to recruit many units from the Mustering Ground or HB - just AOR Troops, Ponitc Swordsmen, Hoplites, Peltasts and Skirmisher Cavalry.

Ah, that'd be it. I managed to trigger the reform script and can now recruit pike units. Thank you! Weirdly, the Pike units were not greyed out: just the Thorax units.

sometimes in long campaign crashes twice or more at one turn (in AI turn)
I get these crashes from time to time. Sometimes few times in a row, after which I can finish the turn normally after several retries. I'm afraid I can't pinpoint the exact issue - it's pretty much random. Happens during various turns (not necessarily late in the game) and on different factions.
It looks like everyone is having these crashes randomly for no particular reason or for different reasons. I'm sure this isn't very helpful, but I thought I'd mention in my case the crashes went away once I made a clean install. As soon as I put any sub mod in the game directory they start reoccurring. I even made my own pack with just one minor value edited (increased range of one unit by one) and even that was enough to start the crashes again. Even if it was disabled. Very strange.

I had not one crash in my last playthrough as Rome until year 263 on Baktria's turn (vanilla 1.1 save updated in succession to 1.1c). As of 1.1d November 30 update, the crash is fixed.
No crashes at all during a lengthy session last evening. I'm chalking the problems up to vanilla issues, along with gremlins, and giving 1.1d a thumbs up.
I've been getting these same random crashes with 1.1d, always on AI turns. But last night I played at least 15 turns without one all of a sudden. The only thing that I could correlate the elimination of the crashes to was that I had hit my Thorax reforms.
