    Default The ONE button missing in battle is:

    CHARGE!

    The CHARGE! button: It makes whatever unit(s) selected just sprint forward screaming like maniacs ready kill the first unit they encounter while running in a straight line. Easy as that.

    I mean c'mon, how many epic films must the CA devs have watched? Surely they want to add this button too!

    It would have come in handy a lot of times for me.

    Good point really, is a bit odd. Pausing the game and giving each unit double click orders to the enemy achieves essentially the same effect though.

    But not as random since if they just charge and attack whomever they want, it can be a charge into spears and not archers. Close, but the randomness would be funny.

    What's random about running directly forward into the enemy. I've lined them up- and awaaaay they go! Also I would jsut REALLY like to see an entire army of mine running headlong into some pitiful enemy all in a rush! The roaring and screams alone all at once would be cool.

    are you sure that works? havent tried it in medieval, but in rtw it just made them move through, and maybe push someone over

    Although this isn't a button, I would like to see the facility to be able to area select troop divisions from various groupings and be able to re-drag them via the mouse, adjusting the final position/widths keeping the current alignment. At the moment you can only do this to divisions in the current grouping.

    Considering that I never use the standard army formations, and use a ad-hoc of different formations per group, this would make organising tidy.

    That charge button might fix the bugged charge behaviour (or lack thereof).

    I've just set my entire infantry line to run through the enemy a few times, and it seems to work well (and definitely looks cool) - when a unit doesn't make a full on hit with an enemy unit it tends to wrap round it pretty much how you'd want it to, and any units that miss entirely are well placed to charge into the enemy's back. I tend to do it when I'm dominant in infantry, and want to exploit that fact and close as quickly as possible.

    I assume you lose the charge bonus when you do this however.

    you know what button id love for thhe battle UI?

    a 'mop up' button.

    ie: when the enemy has routed, and you get the victory button, you can hit this and it lets the AI take control of all of your units and automatically uses them to ride down the nearest units.

    i find trying to mop up all the scurrying routing units after battle a pretty frustrating feat, especially with cavalry.

    Well, I'm not sure if the .txt in MTW 2 is the same as RTW's but in the export_descr_unit.txt of RTW I merely changed the "stat_charge_dist" to "stat_charge_dist 3000" or higher in each unit. This made them charge onto the enemy even from across the map! Don't know if that'll count but it was sure fun for me
