Medieval 2 Total War Gold Widescreen Mode

help when i try to edit the settings for widescreen display it doesnt change and also theres 2 medieval 2 total war configs one in my appdata virtual store location and and one in my main game installation directory program files 86x which one do i use

Fixing the virtual store issue, start with step 3 and then delete the medieval ii total war folder in the virtual store once you are done.

Change your video settings afterward using the in-game options - changing the CFG file manually will be overwritten at the next game start unless the file is write protected. Not advisable as the next change you make in your options will not be written to it unless you reverse the read only before doing so.
