    Default Hold ground option

Is there a command for units to NOT MOVE AT ALL?

On defensive stance, gun units will sometimes dramatically change their facing without orders. Is there a stance or another way to prevent this from happening?

Are you talking about Guard Mode, where after a unit engages the enemy, they will not pursue?

Gun units need to form a line to attack their enemy, so they automatically move. Really, really annoying, heh.

Okay, I know how to hit the D key to tell them to defend, that's not the issue.

The issue is that the line of gunmen turn facing when they are on fire at will mode. I realize that the AI is just trying to present a broadside to the enemy, but most of the time, this completely ruins the overall formation of the battle line, often intersecting the gun line with the pike line behind it.

yeah... and its pure and utter bull... you dont need to form a new line... units often just turned individually... so that even if the target was as much as 75 degrees off to one side the unit didnt move, they just aimed at that target and fired wilst staying in the same line...

You could always turn off fire at will. I hear that the arquebus makes for a really good truncheon, which was all it was good for in previous total war games!
