Hi. I have been running DEI 1.1 up to 155 turns now and still no Marian reforms. The only other mods I run are Rome I music and GEM - isnt the global meant to kick in at 130 turns? That is what i read in the scriptorium. Thanks.

it says in the manual that the Marian reform doesn't happen until the year 107 bc. So thats like turn 660. You haven't even gotten to the Cornelian reform yet, which begins in 209bc. That would be 252 turns.

You do not have to wait 660 turns.
Besides turn requirement you need to have high enough imperium level.
Here are requirements for player:
Marian - Imperium level 5, minimum turns 100

That sounds extremely odd as the reforms are NOT set to trigger at a specific date but at a specific number of turns and Imperium level.
Both number of turns AND Imperium level is needed to trigger the reforms.
I was just posting what i read in the manual on page 32. If thats not correct it needs to be updated. There isn't really a difference in it being determined by turns or years. I thought he said he had met the other requirements so my bad there.
I'm just finishing up a Roman campaign. Its year 145, i'm at max imperium and i've conquered the entire map yet still no Marian reform for me. I do know that the Cornelian reform did kick in at 209bc.
I was looking at these:
Global Cultural Reform Triggers:
Rome
Polybian - Turn 50
Marian - Turn 130
Imperial - Turn 240
What do they mean?
I am half way to imperium level 5 so I will see if i can conquer my way up quickly and report back.
I have no idea where you read about the reforms. But this is from the DeI manual for reforms.Rome
Polybian - Imperium level 3, minimum turns 40
Marian - Imperium level 5, minimum turns 100
Imperial - Imperium level 7, minimum turns 210
And there is a big difference in it being determined by year or turn number, as DeI is set to 4 turns per year.
Right 4 turns equals 1 year so to switch between years required and turns required you just need to multiply or divide by four. I play these games for emersion so i prefer to refer to the year.
So if i had been right about the year it would have been 660 turn, but i just caught my mistake, i was looking at the CAC manual.
The Roman campaign i had just played was CAC and now i'm paying a DEI campaign so i got confused. Anyway the original poster was just short on imperium so problem solved. Its past my bedtime.
who reads a manual in TotalWar? I mean, its hammer and anvil, subjugate enslave, rape, pillage, raze, loot, sack and kill, do they really write about that in the Manual? Maybe I should start reading one...
