Thread: Civil War Actually Interesting?

    Default Civil War Actually Interesting?

Have any special mechanics been added that make civil war more interesting? For instance, instead of having to siege every region that broke away from your control, how about having to have your faction leader seize the capital and stay in it for a couple of terms?

I don't think most of the mechanics are moddable, sadly. We will be looking at the politics system for 1.2, but some of the core mechanisms can't be changed for civil wars.

This is one of the saddest things in rome2, and an example of how CA can wub: things up even more after wub:ing up the first time. As Rome2 came out, civil war meant that a semi-random number of character with fullstacks generated out of the blue around your capital to stir things up. If your capital was a port, also ships would generate (except if you had even one single ship parked there... YOLO).
Since EE, they changed it so that people from opposing families would turn against you, plus a few of your own if you had too much. Seems logical. What doesn't make any damn sense is that about half your settlements and agents turn for no freakin reason. But they were on 100 happiness! Doesn't matter, now they hate you so much, you have to conquer them all over again...
    GG CA...

And you have to do it over and over again. I just got the no-cw submod and was done with it

Hopefully the idea the team has for 1.2 will replace the default civil wars completely!
