    Default macedonian war campaign

i'm playing a multiplayer campaign with campaign macedonian Wars in normal difficulty level.i play with the faction of rome while the another human player plays with the faction of macedonia.
in few turns of campaign, rome left in a dangerous situation after attack epirus, rome that is very decimated his army and macedonian attack with his army intact.
macedonia conquest easily the regions that rome invaded to epirus.
i think that rome needs more troops at the start of the campaign, consulting historical dates on the order of battle of rome in the beginning of this campaign,i saw that started with about 34,000 soldiers, most legionnaires framed in legions.
in the campaing only it appears a whole army and mixed with different types of units in anything not like a Roman legion Republican of that time.
i think a historical order of battle of rome In This campaign is at least two legions and an allied contingent, a total of three armies.
the organization and historical composition of these legions in my opinion this would be:

    1 unit general

    4 units velites

    4 units hastati

    4 units princeps

    2 units triari

    1 unit equites

the contingent allied one army a mixture of different types of units of allies of rome 10 units

three armies with a total of 42 units, being these troops a 70 percent roman and a 30 percent allied .
in my opinión,i think you should change the roman deployment at the beginning of this campaign for something like this that is more historical in some patch update.
with the current deployment of rome campaign is unplayable in multiplayer, rome defeat and the deployment is not historical.

Well, we definitely didn't balance or create it with multiplayer in mind. The idea was to make Rome a difficult faction if you are the player, but a problem to face if they are AI. We are working on adding scripted armies for the AI, that hasn't been implemented yet.

To change the armies would mean redoing the custom campaign startpos. Probably not going to happen anytime soon.

on that rome has a mixed army at the beginning of the campaign and not an organized army in legions and an allied contingent separately in a most historic deployment.
in the multiplayer campaign so the solution is to give rome more troops at the beginning of the campaign.
the AI is horrible, easy and bored for play a single campaing.
i only play multiplayer campaigns with people who play all the way.

Multiplayer only players are an immense minority. I'm afraid we can't try to balance the mod around a mere handful of players when it would negatively effect the other 99.9% of the players.

That said, like Dresden said there will be scripted army reenforcements in the near future, and mini campaign balance is one aspect that will be looked into for 1.2.

Yeah, CiG uses Marian Aux units. It is the perfect campaign to demonstrate a lot of German and Gallic aux units. Along with Aux Cretan archers (Since Ceasar specifically mentioned a contingent of them he brought in in De Bello Gallica).

In case you didn't happen to know, the Second Macedonian War followed pretty much immediately after the Second Punic War. This time frame is before Gaius Marius started instituting his major reforms.

So no, there are no legionnaire units as this campaign predates that.

The armies work fine as they are. Incase you havent noticed you are already losing money at the start of the campaign, So attacking is your only real option. With a larger starting force you would be bankrupt on turn 2.
