    Icon8 Multiplayer Desyncs

    Hi guys, as title says I have some problems with desynchronization in my multiplayer campaign . It happened to me twice (around turn 50 and 63). Can I do smth to fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    BTW DEI 1.1 is really outstanding, I enjoy it very much

    Hey,

    first thing is to do is to check certain things.

    Are both Data folders - yours and the one of your mate - the same? Not similiar but same? Delete or move out deactivated mods.

    Problems with internet?

    The up to date network driver? Especially if one of you is using Windows 10.

    GPU diver up to date? Windows 10 related stuff.

    Is one of you tabbing out of the game while not playing in window or fullscreen-windowed mode? Rome 2 doesn't really like tabbing out. If yes, change the resoultion to either window or fullscreen-windowed (or however that is called in english)

    Is it happening just after one of you gets their reforms?

    If yes, then once one of you get your reforms, you need to save the game, exit, the person with the reform needs to copy his save over and replace the other players, and vice versa when the other player gets their reforms.

    Me and my friend have made a set of rules when we play to prevent any desych. 1. No alt+tabbing, 2. Don't use steam overlay when other player is loading, 3. Don't quick save on the pre-battle screen. If You will go by those rules as well, You might not even have a single desych.

    OK I will try those rules Just one last question, what should I do when desync happened already and when I try to load my autosave it will desync again.. Should I try to load some older save?

    The host can send his save to the other player. The other player then needs to overwrite the old save with the one you sent him.

    I tried it and it works!!!

    P.S. Who places save games into a hidden folder? (really CA?!)

    I will try that solution, I had to abort a campaign with a friend because of teh out of synch problem.

    @Litharion : its because of the unit reform system isnt it ?

    Just remember that the player who has the reforms has to send his save game to the other player, that way the reform event is updated on the other system.
