Has anyone EVER had a unit "charge without orders?" And 1 other unit stat bug?

I see this listed in a some Knight units... never had it happen. It is the nearly the only distinguishing trait between the Knights Hospitallers and my Chivalric knights. .. so big whoop?

Do these stats seem right? Why is the armor WORSE with the later unit (left side) but costs more...?

The armor on dismounted chivalrics is an armor class higher. CA hasn't made it clear that higher armor classes are much more effective.

If you want a simple test, go to a custom battle and try voulgers with no armor upgrade and give them a weapon upgrade, versus dismounted feudal knights. Then try them with no weapon upgrade but their armor upgrade.

Its a huge difference when you up a unit's armor through the barracks.

Yeah I have had a few knights charge without orders.
Usually when they are close to the enemy.

One can be upgraded with better armor on the long run than the other? Some of my troops can only be upgraded with padded for example, while more recent troops, more expensive but not as good by default can get the plated and stuff so end up being way more powerful if you have armories and the like.

As for the charging bit, try French noble cavalry, I've seen these dudes charge head on spearmen just for fun sake!! Only taking them in my "Roaming units" now, too unreliable.

I've seen it happen. It seems to only happen when you move them very close to a stationary enemy unit, without asking them to attack. Sometimes if I'm flanking the enemy, and there *should* be a good 10-20m gap between the closest horse and the closest enemy, but at the closest point, my cavalry decide to charge, and plough straight into the unit they would have ordinarily missed. Of course, it could just be crappy path finding.

There seem to be lots of hidden stats. For some unknown reason Jannissary heavy infantry kill all the other heavy infantry units, even thought they have way worse stats. THe chivalric knights probably have higher stats in the invisible criteria.

And I hope there's something more to the St. John knight than their stats... and costumes. I bought a few and will see how they do against the HRE soon enough.
