I love the new diplomacy, I feel as though my relations with other nations make sense and they mimick my thoughts, too.

For instance, I'm playing as Venice, some Byzantine merchant just, I forget the word, appropriated my silver mine trading site up north, and I'm pissed, but I'm not ready to declear way, yet.

I also notice that I'm not attacked randomly.

Furthermore, I'm really impressed by the programming. The game runs great on my modest computer. The game auto detected all the settings at high or very high, and I thought, yeah right, but the battles have been smooth so far. I had thought the optimization couldn't be done so soon after going gold (i.e., after the demo), but it seems to run faster on my machine.

Particulary the engine rendering optimization was done very well by CA (though sprites could stand a better transition). There are however noticable bugs you'll come across. But that doesn't make the gamenot great and particularly capable of greater.

I share the sentiments of the OP on all counts, especially the optimization for my computer, that also is a bit old. I can only game on the weekends due to work & family commitments, but so far, the game has really delivered for me.

Nice to see another positive thread. Many say diplomacy doesn't work, as seen in a number of other threads. In my limited experience with one campaign so far, it seemed ok to me even on VH. Glad you're enjoying it.
