    Default MTW2: The Movie....

....would be a bit ridiculous, But how many other great historical films are there based in the middle ages? Braveheart is truly a great film (despite being 'a little' inaccurate) - more so for Longshanks than Mr Wallace - The bit where The King throws Piers Gaveston out the window is hilarious.
Kingdom of Heaven is also a pretty good medieval era movie - the siege battle scenes are epic.
Roman and early modern history are served well by cinema and television (there have been entire series based in Rome, Napoleonic eras etc) but the middle ages has been a bit short changed in my opinion.
Robin Hood (the Errol Flynn one of course) is also magnificent - especially the feasting bits!
The timeless Kirk Douglas/Tony Curtis 'The Vikings' is a bit early and the more recent King Arthur (dodgy acting but great atmosphere) is also in a Dark Ages setting. Can anyone recommend any other medieval-era movies? Ive probably missed some obvious ones

    Joan of Arc: The Messenger

Thats my favorite, the fight scenes are really brutal although Joan is a bit screechy, the battles make up for it
Uncle Pedro once drank a whole bottle of water! - In a day?!- Heh... in two.

I didn't like Milla Jovovich as Joan, she seemed a little... yes, screechy is right. Before this is moved to Arts, theres Seven Samurai if a little past the medieval period is still one of the best films of all time.

Mentioning Braveheart here is like mentioning the Scottish play to a Shakespearean actor.

There have been a ton of Medieval era films. Henry V, Kingdom of Heaven and a load of 1950's/60's flicks.

Kingdom of Heaven is only in the Directors Cut epic.
    The vanilla version is hmmpfff...
And have u seen Saladin? The same profile is on the MakingOf-DVD in the Collectors Edition of MTW2 (Germany).

But perhaps CA has the permission of the actor (Saladin).

Yeah Henry V is another but in comparison to other historical eras there aren't that many movies set in this time, especially not recently. I will give Joan of Arc a go though.
