MTW 2 and Kingdoms Nonstart
MTW 2 stopped running after many years of enjoying these games on various computers and operating systems.
So-I decided that it needed a re-install
Uninstalled both games and cleared old files and tried to reinstall.
MTW2 installed but wouldn't run. Found out why when I investigated the threads here.
Tried to re-install Kingdoms but failed. A message popped up: " This 1.03.000 update cannot be apple to the 100.000 version of the game." Don't recall that happening before.
Are there any possible work a-rounds ?
I understand that there is a mod to Kingdoms that will allow me to pay vanilla MTW which is the ultimate goal.
Hate to give up my MTW because of Microsoft dictates.
Windows 7 64 bit.
MTW Limited Edition
Disks no Steam- Doesn't work here as I am rural.
Would be very grateful if someone could help.
Thank you
Tony...

Re: MTW 2 and Kingdoms Nonstart
Hi Tony,
I'm not entirely sure why this issue is cropping up for you. I believe that when I re-installed Kingdoms recently, patch 1.02.000 was installed, before 1.03.000 was installed. Is your installer not even mentioning 1.02.000?
If it's not, the solution may be to download and install 1.02.000 from the links you can find in this thread. Theoretically, the installer should see that you are no longer on 1.00.000, but rather on 1.02.000, and then proceed to install 1.03.000.
Hopefully this works. It's my best guess.
Good luck and let us know how you go.

Thank you Frunk.
The link to the patch from the thread that you gave me is broken. Guess I'll have to find another patch point. Its moot anyway. I'm rural with a sat server. Used up all my download time so have to wait another couple weeks.
Playing Rome in the meantime, Seems to work ok.
