My boy and I started a Radious head to head game a week back while waiting for DEI 1.1 to be released, I've got myself into a situation, and I have a plan that may or may not work, depends a lot on the mechanics and to a large degree luck, the screenshot below shows my opponent, who is the Romans, and me The German Confederation.
I have managed to hold off any siege as when he moves a few legions up, and initiates the siege, we come out at night, giving me two armies + Garrison of 20 units against his 1 Legion, night attack nullifying his reinforcements, and he retreats.
The two Legions you see to the East are being sent around to engage my reinforcing army North of Casurgis, if they can destroy my reinforcing army, they can hit the city with 5 Legions against my 1 army + garrison.
So my plan is to bring the half stack down from Lupfurdum, they are in range of the two Legions to the East, also move my two armies East and engage the Two Legions and hopefully defeat them with enough men intact to hold off the 3 Legions to the south, the city has a 20 unit garrison + 2 scorpion and 2 ballista (wall mounted), thats if they appear.
As far as game mechanics, if I engage the two Legions to the East, will my armies have movement left after the battle to make it back to the city? furthermore, can anybody think up a strategy that may work better than the one I have?
It's basically an all or nothing plan, in moving my half stack south, if my forces are defeated, then my Capitol Lupfurdum is left undefended except for the garrison, which will not hold and the game would be lost.
If this was DEI 1.1, I'd be going for his supply lines
