Yep, it's always ever only three slots, even for retraining your troops after hard battles. This is a bit of a nightmare, and I would love a mod that would allow me to retrain all troops in one turn, like RTW. This is a nightmare when facing the Mongols and their multiple armies - finding that your army takes 12-15 real time years to get back up to strength is a little soul destroying, and adds nothing to the game apart from frustration - IMOHO of course...
LOL, I just assumed because they were shaded darker that you could only heal the same number of units you could recruit.
How obvious. I mean you could heal all your units in one turn in previous games. I just never tried it.
Going home to bang my head against a brick wall, and repeat the word STUPID over and over.
thx mate

You can repair multiple building in one turn, so healing all your units would make sense. I don't mind 3 for recruitment, but healing should be different.
that is the point .
You have i think 5 or 6 recruitment slots but can only use 3
so why and why are the 4.5.6 slots darker when you fill them in .there must be a reason and it is not explained in the manual page 28-29
edit : ok i founfd something in the maual
quote : if you hae two buildings in that can recruit the unit in one settlement .....
How do you get two buildings that recruit the same unit in one city or castle????
please use edit button instead of double posting:wink:

I think it's talking about upgrades, knight stables allows so many of a particular unit for example and when you upgrade it, that counts as another building that recruits the same unit, increasing the number of units available to recruit.
But not the number you can recruit in one turn.

You have a total of 9 recruitment slots in a settlement. Only the slots in which a unit is highlighted in green will produce units that turn. The other units are just queued.
That applies to the recruitment pool not the recruitment slots.if you hae two buildings in that can recruit the unit in one settlement .....

I like it like this as it means when you destroy a stack, that ex-full-stack can't just go back to a city and be fully health again. Major victories mean more this way.
The extra slots are for you to queue up units, so you don't have to go round each turn filling in three slots.
In previous titles you could only recruit 1 at a time, so you would add more to the queue, to make your life easier.
