    Default Another kingdoms.exe thread

    Hi,

I don't have much hope that my problem can be fixed since I've tried what was suggested in various threads regarding this problem, but I thought I'll post here anyway.

I get the "Windows can't find kingdoms.exe" message when trying to start Third Age 3.2. I'm running Win 10 and had the same problem with Win 8.1. I have the German Medieval 2 Gold version (retail) and patched it to 1.05 (with the German patch ofc). My game's directory is simply "C:\M2TW" (C's my only partition) because I wanted to see if not installing it to program files would help. I checked if there was a M2TW folder in the VirtualStore folder (there wasn't), gave full access to the M2TW folder to my user account, disabled UAC when installing Third Age and ran everything as admin. And I'm sure I installed everything to the correct path.

So, are there any suggestions or do I have to live without this awesome mod?

edit: I forgot to mention that I could run the vanilla version without any problems.

Are you trying to run Third Age.bat ( BATCH) file as an Administrator? Did you perhaps rename your Third_Age_3 folder? Just for the record, your M2TW is not Steam version, and you have at least one Kingdoms campaign installed?

Well, try not to run Third Age.bat ( BATCH) file as an Administrator, it tends to give this error message for some users when trying to run as an Administrator.

If it does not work, then I would suggest to reinstall, destination folder for all .exe Installers is your C:\M2TW ( so not C:\M2TW\mods ).

    Good luck!

Ok, back to square one: I can start Medieval 2, but not Kingdoms (my mistake, sorry about that!). Run as admin or compatibility mode (via troubleshoot compatibility) do not help. Any specific suggestions for a reinstall?

D you want some units back in MOS 1.7? Install this mod http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...n-1-1-RELEASED
It adds back units who were deleted from the campaign in MOS 1.7, namely the Winged Swordsmen, the Citadel Guard Archers and the Gondor Dismounted Bodyguard.

    Clear the cache.

Make sure the mod is in the correct path, ie in the mod folder, not in a mod folder in mod folder, as it looks like it its a pathing problem to me.
